The City and County of San Francisco invites you to join a highly respected police department and serve the citizens of one of the most beautiful cities in the country. San Francisco Police Officers perform a wide variety of duties to promote public safety and security, prevent crime and enforce the law. Police officers perform a number of essential functions. For example, they patrol districts to prevent and detect crime; respond to calls for assistance; conduct criminal investigations; interact with the community to build cooperation and support; pursue and arrest suspects; enforce traffic and parking laws; write reports and maintain records; work with superiors, peers, and others as a team; prepare for and participate in planned events; prepare for court and give testimony; and fulfill other administrative duties when required. This is much more than a job; it is an opportunity to build a career of which you can be proud.

9:00pm       3300 Blk Mission           Robbery
A confrontation between a shoplifter and a store security guard prompted dispatch to send Ingleside Officers Bryant and Elliston to investigate. The security officer told Bryant and Elliston that another customer alerted her that the suspect had hidden several items in a paper bag. When the security officer confronted the suspect, he pushed her in the chest and jaw. The suspect was told to abandon the stolen items and leave the store. Ingleside Officers Shugars and Thompson were taking a vandalism report regarding paintball damage to a window when dispatch reported someone was holding a gun to a citizen’s head a block away. Shugars and Thompson quickly went to the scene and found the victim with paint splatter on his head and clothing. He told the officers that two men holding paint guns ran up to him and shot him in the head and back of his legs before running away. The victim refused medical attention and was unsure if he could identify the suspects. Report Number:  150536135

10:08pm     400 Blk Yerba Buena   Hot Prowl
A father and son were in the family room of their home when they heard glass breaking somewhere else in the house. The father told Ingleside Officers Hermosura, Ferronato, and Lundy that he went upstairs and saw a gloved hand sticking through a broken bedroom window. The suspect had also turned the window latch. The father yelled to the son to call 911 and yelled at the suspect who quickly fled on foot through the backyard. The suspect never gained entry into the home. The officers scoured the neighborhood for the suspect without success. Report Number:  150536248

10:40pm     Justin/Alemany             Robbery
A woman walking home was the victim of a violent robbery. The victim told Ingleside Officer Wells she was walking on Justin and had turned onto Alemany when an unknown suspect approached her from the rear and grabbed her backpack and attempted to pull it from her shoulder.  The victim held onto the backpack until the suspect punched her in the face, causing the victim to fall to the sidewalk. The suspect then grabbed the backpack and fled in an unknown direction. The loss was a wallet, cash, several credit and debit cards, health insurance cards, vehicle registration and keys to her home, work, and garage. She declined medical assistance.
