Jones followed the car as it traveled east on Geneva then South on Mission before Officer Jones activated his emergency lights and pulled the vehicle to the curb. Jones approached the vehicle as the driver opened the door. When the door opened Officer Jones could smell the unmistakable odor of alcohol. He asked the driver if he had been drinking and the driver responded just a beer about a half hour before. Jones asked for his license, insurance, and registration. The driver said he was unlicensed and his insurance had expired several weeks before. Jones then asked the driver to step out and complete several roadside sobriety tests. He failed all of them.
