He told Ingleside Officers Thompson and Lim that the noises sounded like someone trying to break glass. He went outside and saw a subject standing near a green Toyota Camry holding a pair of pliers while trying to pry open the passenger window. Unsuccessful, the suspect then walked away and tried to break into two more parked vehicles. The witness went inside his home and asked his roommate to call police. Ingleside Officer Thompson was the first to arrive. Officers Thompson, Campos and Lim attempted to arrest the suspect but violently resisted. After a prolonged struggle, and with the assistance of the recently arrived Officer Trail, they were able to place the suspect in handcuffs and into the back of a patrol car. A search of the suspect’s belongings turned up several burglary tools used to break into vehicles along with items stolen from three cars parked in the neighborhood. The suspect was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for burglary, resisting arrest, and several other related charges.
