Arrests:
4:01am Crescent/Mission
Weapon and Narcotics
Ingleside units were on the lookout for a vehicle theft
suspect who tried to steal a motorcycle using an angle grinder. Witnesses said
the suspect was pushing a cart full of tools. Ingleside Officer Hardy spotted a
man matching the description pushing a cart near Crescent and Mission Streets.
He stopped and tried to question the suspect who was on his cell phone and
refused to talk to Officer Hardy. The officer asked the suspect to put down the
phone and stand for cursory pat search to make sure he didn’t have any hidden
weapons. But the suspect refused and a struggle ensued before, with the help of
the recently arrived Officers Hauscarriague and Lee, he was placed in
handcuffs. A search of his clothing revealed brass knuckles and a pipe used to
smoke methamphetamine. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for
possession of an illegal weapon and narcotic paraphernalia. His tool cart was
released to the suspect’s girlfriend. Report number: 150182631
12:05pm San
Jose/Mt. Vernon Theft from a
Vehicle
A couple driving down San Jose Avenue noticed two men
suspiciously peering into a parked BMW sedan. As the couple drove by they
noticed one of the men use an object to break the passenger side window of the
car before climbing inside. The couple called police and followed the pair as
they ran toward the nearby BART station. Ingleside Officers Leong, Lim,
Baldovino, Hopkins, Trail, Chew, Calupad, Macaulay, Chang, and Wong responded
and chased one of the suspects through the BART station and surrounding streets
before finding him hiding under a car on the 300 block of Seneca Street. The
two witnesses positively identified the suspect as the person they saw breaking
into the BMW. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for attempted theft.
The other suspect remains at large. Report number: 150183695
11:57pm Mission/Excelsior Narcotics
and Stolen Property
A man walking down the street drinking a can of beer from a
paper bag caught the attention of Ingleside Officers Hauscarriague and Coulter.
The officers stopped their patrol car and approached the man to warn him about
drinking in public. But the suspect became verbally combative and the officers
decided to put him in handcuffs while they conducted a computer search. He was
on probation after a conviction for possession of stolen property. He also had
a warrantless search condition. In his pocket the officers discovered some
prescription narcotics along with driver’s license belonging to someone else.
He was taken to Ingleside Station and charged with possession of narcotics and
stolen property. Report number: 150185378
Serious Incidents:
10:20am Visitacion/Schwerin Robbery w/Force
A woman sitting on a MUNI bus was robbed of her Ipad. The
victim told Ingleside Officers Chang and Wong that an unknown fellow rider
snatched the Ipad before running off the coach. The officers broadcast a
description of the suspect and a short time later Ingleside Officer Baldovino
spotted several juveniles a short distance away carrying an Ipad. The victim
was driven to the scene and positively identified the Ipad as her property. The
juveniles gave her back the Ipad and told the officers that a man they knew ran
up to them a short time before and gave them the victim’s property. The victim
