Arrests:

2:00am       500 Blk Cayuga                      Hot Prowl Burglary
A resident of a home on Cayuga was awakened by the sound of his dog barking. He got out of bed and found several normally closed interior doors open and his garage door open. Boxes and other items in the garage were strewn about and his bicycle and helmet were missing. He called police and while waiting for the officers’ arrival, he noticed a barefoot man walking toward his home wearing his bike helmet. He called police again and along with roommates and neighbors tackled the suspect and held him until Ingleside Officers Trujillo, Chang, and Wong arrived a short time later. The officers placed the suspect in handcuffs and found the stolen bicycle hidden a short distance away. They also discovered narcotics paraphernalia in his pockets along with several burglary tools used to break into cars and homes. During an inspection of the crime scene, the officers determined that the suspect broke into the home through the PG&E meter window. He used tools to break out the small glass window and widen the opening just enough to slip into the garage. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools, and several narcotics violations. Report number: 150175874
