Recently, a flyer was distributed to the community regarding scams targeting the monolingual Chinese. These scams involve telling the victim that an evil spirit is following them. They will ask the victim to bring valuables to pray over as an offering to the spirit. They will return to the victim what is believed to be their valuables. They will ask the victim not to look at their valuables for a day. When the victim later checks their valuables, they find that the valuables were not returned by the suspects.
We urge all person(s) confronted with this scam to call 911 as this is a crime in progress. By contacting 911, you greatly increase the chance of catching the suspect(s) so that the police can make an arrest. If someone approaches you with this scam, decline their help, call 911 immediately and report it to the police. Be a good witness. Obtain a description of the suspect(s) and/or vehicles they are driving.

in and around the Balboa BART Station and City College area
Safety Tips:
*Try
not to have your Iphone or other property visible for others to see.
*If
someone asks to use your phone, advise them you do not have one.
*Do not
store or carry your phones in your back pocket, people will know you have one.
*Have
(415)553-8090 programmed in your cell phone to contact SF 911 directly.
*If you
see any suspicious activity involving you or others, or see someone needing
help

Arrests:
4:25pm Unit Blk Arlington Battery/Resisting
Officers Cross and Burke responded to a call of an intoxicated individual who was harassing people. They arrived on scene where various individuals pointed out the suspect. The suspect appeared extremely intoxicated and was drinking an open container of alcohol. He refused to comply with the officers’ directions to put down the bottle of alcohol and became belligerent. After a brief struggle, the officers were able to take the suspect into custody. He was transported to the county jail due to his level of intoxication as the officers determined he was unable to care for himself.
At the county jail, a record check revealed an outstanding warrant and the suspect was booked upon confirmation of the warrant. Report Number 130469534
Serious Incidents:
2:15pm 500 Blk Munich Hot Prowl
Officers Wong and Morrow were sent to assist the victim of a burglary. The victim told them that he was in his home when he heard a loud banging at the front door. He then heard the sound of a window shattering and called 911. Officers searched the area for any suspects, but the individual(s) had fled the scene. Their search for surveillance cameras in the area turned up negative.
Officers contacted CSI and advised of the incident. Their investigation found damage to the back
fence and a sliding glass door smashed by a rock, which was located at the
scene. The officers took pictures of the
scene which they booked into evidence. Report

Blk Geneva Robbery
Officers Fung and Dun were dispatched to a robbery. The victim told them that she exited Bart and
was sitting on a stone bench texting a friend when an unknown suspect grabbed
her phone from her hand and ran toward San Jose. The victim briefly struggled to keep her
phone, but let go out of fear. She said
she was not injured and believed she could identify the suspect if she saw him
again. Various officers canvassed the
area for anyone fitting the suspect description but were unable to locate
him. Dispatch advised they were unable
to track the cellular phone to any location.

Blk Naples Robbery
A victim responded to Ingleside station and told Officer
Cavanaugh that she was standing at a bus stop holding her cellular phone when a
male suspect approached her, punched her in the face and took her cellular
phone. The victim said the incident
occurred a few days back and had already sought medical treatment for a black
eye. She was unable to provide Officer
Cavanaugh with any further details about the incident. Report Number 130467287
