Arrests:

12:50am     3100 Blk Mission                    Assault
Ingleside officers Peregrina and McMilton along with a dozen other police units were dispatched to a nightclub to quell a large fight.  The first units arrived and noticed several hundred people, in the street, running in different directions. One of the victims outside the club told arriving officers that he was waiting with friends for another friend to exit a bathroom at the club when a suspect, and the suspect’s friends, tried to pick a fight with him. When the victim’s friends intervened, the fight broke out with the suspect, according to witnesses, throwing four or five chairs during the melee. He described the suspect as “a big fat guy”, and said he was escaping North on Mission Street. The officers caught up with the suspect, and after being identified by the victim, he was taken to Ingleside Station and charged with assault. Report number: 130263289

3:04am       1700 Blk Church                    Burglary
Officer McMilton responded to a call from an alert citizen who reported someone using a torch to break into an ATM machine. When she arrived, officer McMilton noticed a door at the bottom of the ATM, which contained a safe, open. She did not see a suspect but she did notice a pickup truck, with a man asleep in the front seat, parked near the ATM. The officer shined her flashlight into the vehicle, waking him up, and asked him to step outside. A computer check revealed the occupant was on probation for possession of burglary tools and could be searched without a warrant. Other Ingleside officers who arrived to help Officer McMilton with her investigation, found heavy duty work gloves, a hidden flashlight, and an acetylene torch, a wrench, and bolt cutters in the bed of the truck. The suspect was taken to Ingleside Station and booked on several charges. Report Number: 1302630502

5:39pm       200 Blk Murray                      Drugs
Ingleside Officers Barajas and Burke were on patrol when they noticed a man, whom they knew from prior occasions and to be on probation, about to enter a car with a woman and drive away. The car was owned by the woman who was also on probation. After questioning the two, the officers decided to search the vehicle. Inside the glove box, the officers discovered a baggie of Methamphetamine. The car owner was arrested for possession of narcotics and her male companion was released. Report number: 130264920

7:48pm       1300 Blk Mansell                   Firearm Violations
Officer Shugars and Zerga were dispatched to the area of Mansell and Bowdoin after a citizen reported hearing several gunshots at the intersection. When they arrived, they found a group of people who told the officers that several shots were fired into their home. They said the suspects, after firing the shots, fled down the hill toward the Visitacion Valley neighborhood. The officers told the group to go back inside for their safety and alerted other Ingleside and Bayview officers responding to the scene. A short time later, Bayview Officers Talusan and Cader observed five men running down a hill toward Ervine Street. Officer Talusan saw one of the men toss a gun into a bush along the hilly trail, but was unable to apprehend him at the time. Fortunately, other officers caught up with the suspects who were hiding in front of and in the backyard of two nearby homes on Campbell Street. Another suspect was arrested at San Francisco General while being treated for a gunshot wound. A comprehensive investigation resulted in two suspects booked for possession of a loaded firearm and firing into an occupied dwelling. Report number: 130265310

Ingleside Officers Peregrina and McMilton were dispatched to a nightclub to investigate a fight. When they arrived, the officers observed a large crowd of people on the sidewalk and a security guard detaining a woman in handcuffs. The guard told the officers he was told the woman hit another woman over the head with a beer bottle during a confrontation on the dance floor. A witness to the assault, the victim’s sister, said she would not be able to identify the suspect and did not want to press charges. The victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital for her injuries. 2:15am       600 Blk  Anderson                  Robbery

After calling for an ambulance, the officers interviewed the victim who told the officers that he shared a taxi with a woman he met at a restaurant after work. He and the woman went into his home for a short time and then she left. A short time later, she called and said she left her keys at his home and wanted to come over and retrieve them. He said okay, and a short time later she showed up with another man who pushed their way into his home, subdued him with a taser, and then took cash, jewelry, and electronics from the home before escaping. The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment. Report number: 130263449

3:00pm       Geneva/280 On Ramp            Robbery
Ingleside Police Offices Archilla and Leong were sent to the Geneva on-ramp to Interstate #280 after a report of a cell phone theft. They interviewed the victim, who told the officers that the cell phone theft was part of a much more involved incident. The victim said he was getting on the freeway from Bosworth Avenue when he passed a motorcycle parked on the shoulder. As he passed the motorcycle he heard a “thump” but kept driving. A short time later, he said, the motorcycle rider rode up to him while he was stopped in traffic on the Geneva Avenue exit. The rider began pounding on his closed driver’s side window and yelling something he didn’t understand. The victim started to take pictures of the rider with his cell phone while the suspect continued to hit the window. The victim pulled over to the shoulder and got out of the car and started to fight with the motorcycle rider during which time the suspect took the victim’s cell phone. The victim ran back to his car and drove home to make a police report. Report number: 130264594

9:40pm       3100 Blk Mission                   Aggravated Assault
Officers Peregrina, McMilton and numerous Ingleside officers were dispatched to the area of Mission and Valencia streets after a report of a shooting on a MUNI bus. When the officers arrived, two victims, both with gunshot wounds, had already been taken to San Francisco General Hospital. While other officers remained at the scene of the shooting to continue the investigation, Sgt. Brown and Officer Archilla went to the hospital to interview the victims. One of the victims told the officers that, while sitting on the bus, he was approached by two men who asked him about his gang tattoos. The victim said he told the men he had just arrived in this country and did not want any problems. Soon thereafter, the two suspects while exiting the bus through the back door, turned and fired a shot at the victims, wounding one in the leg and the other in the chest. Towards the end of the interview, the officers were told by the attending physician that both victims were listed in “Stable” condition.  Report number: 130265489

CRIME ALERT:  There has been an increase in auto boostings around Precita Park and the surrounding area.  Don’t be a Victim.
Take extra precautions to avoid a criminal window-shopping inside your car. Never give them a reason to break into your car and steal your belongings.

                                                          Safety Tips:
*Try to park in a well- lit area and always lock your doors and secure your windows.
*Do not leave possessions on the seat or in plain view.
*Never hide belongings under the seat: This is the first place burglars check.
*Never cover expensive items with an article of clothing or blanket:  This presents a hidden clue to thieves that items may be underneath.
*Do not leave any important documents inside your car that contain your personal information.
* Do not leave phone or MP3 chargers plugged in: this leads the burglar to believe there are expensive electronics inside your car.

Remember, if a criminal is unsuccessful and is not benefitting from his criminal activity, the thief will move on, thus making your neighborhood less of a target.
