CRIME ALERT: Increase in recent trend of robberies and thefts in and around the Balboa BART Station and City College area,
Be vigilant of suspicious vehicles pulling up and its occupants asking for directions and/or to use your phone and then fleeing the scene with your property.

*Try not to have your Iphone or other property visible for others to see.
*If someone asks to use your phone, advise them you do not have one.
*Do not store or carry your phones in your back pocket, people will know you have one.
*Have (415)553-8090 programmed in your cell phone to contact SF 911 directly.
*If you see any suspicious activity involving you or others, or see someone needing help
Call the police.Crime Alert: Precita Park area; There has been numerous incidents where several bicycles have been stolen out of residential garages. Suspect(s) have broken into vehicles parked along the street and have taken the garage door openers and used them to open the owner’s garage to gain access. Once inside, they steal anything of value, including bicycles. You wouldn’t leave the key to your front door in your car, so don’t leave your remote garage door opener in your car either. If you happen to hear your garage door opening, and it wasn’t you, call SF 911 directly.
Crime Alert: Glen Park area; A couple business burglaries in the area have been reported where laptop computers and other expensive electronics have been stolen. Suspects have forced entry or crawled through an open window to steal these items that were left on the front counter and easily seen from the street. When your business is closed, hide these items out of plain site and if possible, locked away. Always make sure your windows and doors are locked and secure before leaving.
Crime Alert: Glen Park BART Station and surrounding area; A recent trend in robberies are occurring where suspect(s) are running up behind an unsuspecting victim and proceed to shove or push them to the ground and then forcefully take their cell phone, MP3 player and/or other valuable belongings. If you happen to see what may seem like a fight taking place on the street, it could actually be a robbery taking place. Immediately call (415) 553-8090 from your cell phone or “911” from a landline. Ingleside Police Officers are stepping up their efforts and increasing patrol to the area as well as sending our plain clothes officers to conduct surveillance. Remember, report any crime that you see taking place or anything that looks suspicious.

2:42am Cortland /Elsie Robbery
Officers McMilton and Peregrina responded to the area of Mission and Cortland Avenue regarding a call of an armed robbery. The officers met with the victim, who stated he was walking home headed Eastbound on Cortland Avenue when he heard someone running up behind him. The victim said he instantly became nervous and scared, therefore began to run as well, but was quickly confronted by a suspect who pointed a gun at him and said, “Don’t move”. The second suspect, who was initially chasing the victim, ran up and began rummaging through the victim’s pockets taking $30 dollars. Both suspects then proceeded to flee on foot running down Cortland headed towards Mission Street. A witness happened to be driving by on Mission and Cortland Avenue and saw both suspects running away and thought it was very suspicious. Moments later, the victim approached the witness telling him he was just robbed at gunpoint by the two suspects. The witness immediately called the police and followed one of the suspects, while providing dispatch with the updated location. Several units responded and had the suspect cornered on the 600 block of San Jose Avenue. The officers on scene conducted a systematic search and ultimately found the suspect hiding in a backyard. The suspect was quickly taken into custody. The victim identified the suspect as one of the two subjects who robbed him at gun point. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and booked for the robbery. Report Number: 130257646 **********Best Arrest of the Day**********
12:40 pm 4800 Blk Mission Burglary
Officers Pubill and Baldovino were dispatched to a report of a burglary that took place back on February 21, 2013. The caller / building manager had originally reported that the storage area in the garage had been broken into, which was caught on tape by the surveillance camera. The tape showed two suspects breaking into the storage area then covering up the camera with a paper bag. The caller / building manager viewed the tape and immediately recognized both suspects, who have been seen, on occasion, hanging around the building and who also know an acquaintance that lives in the apartment building. Today, the caller / building manager spotted one of the suspects in the area of Mission and Russia Street and immediately called the police. The suspect was positively identified by the building manager as one of the two suspects who broke into the storage area. The suspect was placed under arrest and booked on the burglary as well as the outstanding warrant he had. Report Number: 130152234
8:19pm 400 Blk Geneva Theft
Officers Chew and Lustenberger along with several other Ingleside units responded to the area of Geneva and San Jose Avenue regarding a theft. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victim, who said she was waiting for the bus with a friend at the bus stop across from the Balboa BART Station, when a suspect ran up and snatched her IPhone from her hands and ran down Geneva toward San Jose Avenue. The officers broadcast the suspect description to the units who were already searching the area. Moments later, Officers Dejesus and Labson, from the Taraval district, notified the Ingleside units that they had four subjects detained, one of whom matched the suspect who stole the Iphone. The victim and several witnesses, who saw the incident occur, viewed the four subjects detained and they all pointed out the one suspect who took the cell phone. The officers searched that suspect and in fact found the victim’s phone inside his pants pocket. The suspect was transported and booked on the theft. The remaining subjects were interviewed and released. Report Number: 130260019

9:20pm 4200 Blk Folsom Robbery
Officers Barajas, Burke and Sgt Alvarez were in the area of Crescent and Moultrie Street when they observed two suspects acting suspicious. The officers stayed close and kept an eye on these two suspects as they hid in a dark doorway until a passerby/victim walked passed them, totally unaware of their presence. The suspects then proceeded to follow the passerby/victim at a close distance. When the passerby turned the corner at Crescent and Folsom Street, the suspects approached the victim and began assaulting him as if trying to rob him. Seeing this, the officers jumped into action and ran to help the victim while yelling, “Stop, police”. The suspects heard the officers and attempted to flee by running Northbound on Folsom Street. While attempting to escape, the suspects ran into the officers, who immediately took them into custody. The victim told the officers that the suspects tried to rob him and began assaulting him. Both suspects were transported to the station and were booked for the robbery and assault. Report Number: 130260075 **********3rd Best Arrest of the Day**********

CRIME ALERT: There has been an increase in auto boostings around Precita Park and the surrounding area. Don’t be a Victim.
Take extra precautions to avoid a criminal window-shopping inside your car. Never give them a reason to break into your car and steal your belongings.
Safety Tips:
*Try to park in a well- lit area and always lock your doors and secure your windows.
*Do not leave possessions on the seat or in plain view.
*Never hide belongings under the seat: This is the first place burglars check.
*Never cover expensive items with an article of clothing or blanket: This presents a hidden clue to thieves that items may be underneath.
*Do not leave any important documents inside your car that contain your personal information.
* Do not leave phone or MP3 chargers plugged in: this leads the burglar to believe there are expensive electronics inside your car.
Remember, if a criminal is unsuccessful and is not benefitting from his criminal activity, the thief will move on, thus making your neighborhood less of a target.
