Arrests:

4:52pm       Vienna/France              Drug Arrest
Officer Seavey was on routine patrol when he stopped a driver and its occupants for driving a vehicle with an expired registration sticker at France and Vienna Street. Officer Seavey requested backup and additional units responded to the scene. Officer Seavey spoke with the driver, who was unable to provide him with his driver’s license and told Officer Seavey that it was expired. The driver also told Officer Seavey that he was on probation as well.  Officer Seavey than proceeded to run a computer check on the driver and the passengers, which revealed, three of the passengers to be on probation and the last passenger to be on parole, all with search conditions. The occupants were then taken out of the vehicle and a search of their person was conducted. Officer Seavey proceeded to search the driver and found methamphetamine and a glass pipe. The driver was immediately placed under arrest for possessing drugs and paraphernalia. A search of the passengers was conducted with negative results and they were all released from scene. Because none of the passengers had a valid license, the vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver was transported to the Ingleside station and booked accordingly. Report number: 130101996.

CRIME ALERT:  There has been an increase in auto boostings around Precita Park and the surrounding area.  Don’t be a Victim.
Take extra precautions to avoid a criminal window-shopping inside your car. Never give them a reason to break into your car and steal your belongings.

                                                          Safety Tips:
*Try to park in a well- lit area and always lock your doors and secure your windows.
*Do not leave possessions on the seat or in plain view.
*Never hide belongings under the seat: This is the first place burglars check.
*Never cover expensive items with an article of clothing or blanket:  This presents a hidden clue to thieves that items may be underneath.
*Do not leave any important documents inside your car that contain your personal information.
* Do not leave phone or MP3 chargers plugged in: this leads the burglar to believe there are expensive electronics inside your car.

Remember, if a criminal is unsuccessful and is not benefitting from his criminal activity, the thief will move on, thus making your neighborhood less of a target.
