Arrests:

2:54pm       400 Blk Argonaut                            Battery
Officer Archilla and Preston responded to the 400 block of Argonaut on a call regarding a physical altercation where one of the parties involved was armed with a knife.  When they arrived, they met with the victim, who also happened to be the landlord. The officers noticed that the victim was distraught, shaking, crying and bleeding from her left eye. She told the officers that she is a volunteer who feeds the cats at a separate location, therefore keeps bags of cat food in her home next to the sliding glass door that goes to the backyard. She said that one of her tenants confronted her about keeping the cat food so close to his bedroom. The victim advised him that she was cleaning out a space in the backyard and that the cat food did not bother him in any way. The tenant became angry and began throwing the cat food out to the backyard. The victim then recorded his actions onto her cell phone. The tenant/suspect then walked towards her and without warning punched her in the left eye. He then grabbed a knife and said, “I’m going to kill you and your husband”, and went to his bedroom. Another tenant witnessed the altercation and immediately called the police. The victim and the witness ran outside and waited for the police. The officers located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to Ingleside Station and booked accordingly. Report Number
121012883.

6:45pm       Naples/Geneva                        Grand Theft Auto
Officer Hurwitz was on patrol headed Northbound on Naples when she saw a Gold colored older model Acura headed in the opposite direction. Officer Hurwitz recalled that earlier in the day she responded to a hit and run call involving a similar stolen older model Acura vehicle. Officer Hurwitz slowed down just enough to look at the driver and the front passenger as it passed her. The driver looked at her wide eyed and sank down in his seat, as if trying to hide. She tried to get the license plate, but was unable to, therefore turned around in order to get behind it to acquire the plate number. When she finished making the turn, she noticed that the vehicle was about one or two blocks ahead of her and picking up speed. When she arrived at Geneva and Naples Street, she noticed that the same vehicle had now been involved in an accident. She noticed the passenger door open, but the passenger was gone. She also saw the driver running away from the driver’s side of the vehicle. Officer Hurwitz immediately notified dispatch and requested back-up. Officer Hurwitz jumped into action and went after the fleeing suspect, while still in her patrol car. The suspect saw that he was being pursued and changed directions multiple times in an attempt to shake Officer Hurwitz. It didn’t work. Officer Hurwitz kept relaying her current position to the arriving units. Moments later, Officer Khan arrived with other units and they were able to take the suspect into custody. An arrest search was conducted where a shaved vehicle key along with a glass smoking pipe and a plastic bag containing methamphetamine were found. Officer Hurwitz ran the vehicle the suspect was driving, which came back as a stolen vehicle. Officer Hurwitz found three more shaved keys inside the vehicle, which are commonly used to open and/or steal cars. The suspect was booked on numerous counts along with the outstanding warrant he had for his arrest. The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene. Report Number 121013449.                ********** Best Arrest of the Day**********

Serious Incidents:

12:10am              Delano/Geneva             Robbery
Officer Jones went to Daly City to meet with a victim of robbery that took place at Delano and Geneva Avenue. The victim advised the robbery took place just twenty minutes earlier and that she had driven home before notifying the police. The victim said she was walking from the Balboa BART station headed Eastbound on Geneva Avenue. She then turned onto Delano Street and headed towards to where her vehicle was parked. As she began to unlock her car door, she heard two people walking up behind her. One of the two suspects pulled out a small semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at her and said, “Give me your purse”. He then began grabbing at the purse straps. The second suspect walked behind her and began checking her pockets. The suspect with the gun then took her purse containing all of her belongings, including her wallet, I.D, credit cards, some cash, her keys and her cell phone. Both suspects then ran off on Delano towards Seminole Avenue. The victim was unsure if the suspects followed her from the BART station, but she did not remember seeing them at the station or on the train with her. The victim was not injured in the incident. Report Number 121011233.

2:05PM                Santos/Velasco              Robbery
Officers Johnson and Obot went to Santos and Velasco on a call regarding a person who was just robbed at gun point. The victim said he just left his home and proceeded to walk to the corner store at Santos and Geneva Avenue.  As he neared Velasco and Santos Street, he noticed three suspects walking and headed in the same direction. The victim believed these suspects were going to wait for the bus at the bus stop. Suddenly, as the victim crossed their path, one of the three suspects stood in front of him and pointed a Silver semi-automatic handgun in his face. The victim feared for his safety and began to run back towards his home. The suspect with the gun then said, “Get him”. The victim slipped and fell to the ground and was surrounded by all three suspects. They then assaulted him and searched his pockets and took his cell phone and wallet. All three suspects fled the scene last seen running on Santos from Velasco. The officers and other units searched the area to no avail. Report Number 121012714.
