Officers Vizcay and Trujillo with Officers Rosiak and Smethurst responded to a parents request to assist with an out of control teenage son.  The officers located the son in the stairwell of the residence and he failed to comply with their lawful commands and took a fighting stance. The officers were able to subdue the suspect with various control holds and took him into custody.  The suspect was later booked at JJC.  Report number 100903976

Housing Officers Hart, Uang, Duffin and Hopkins observed a subject known to them to have a warrant for her arrest.  The officers contacted the subject and took her into custody for the warrants.  Report number 100905201

Officers Hurwitz and Daggett were passing through the area when they observed a man between two homes.  They contacted the subject and found that he was in possession of various tools used to burglarize homes and vehicles.  A computer query revealed that he had a warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody.  A search of the suspect revealed methamphetamine and glass smoking pipes.  Report number 100906522

Officers Hom and Cassinelli observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.  The officers contacted the driver and found that he did not have current registration for the vehicle and no proof of insurance.  The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and as he did the officers noticed that there was a baggie of suspected ecstacy pills in a baggy in plain view.  The officers placed the driver under arrest and later booked him at Ingleside Station.  Report number 100906500

Officer Morse and Officer Padilla responded to the report of a burglary. The victim said that he was getting ready for work when he heard some loud banging noises coming from his garage. PSA Zabarte prepared a report at Ingleside Station regarding a battery. The victim said that he was unloading the trunk of his car when a man, who the victim was acquainted with, walked up and hit him 4-5 times. The suspect then demanded to know where his girlfriend was, and said that he would beat the victim up each time he saw him. Report number 100904065

Officer Muro was dispatched to the report of a theft. The victim, a teacher at a school, said that someone had taken an iPod docking station and a backpack from her classroom. The victim said that she had no idea who could have stolen the items.  Report number 100904974

Officer Murphy and Officer Pedersen responded to the report of a battery. The victim, an employee at a department store, said that she saw a woman putting new bed sheets into a garbage bag inside the store. When the victim asked the suspect to leave, the suspect began to cause a scene and verbally abused the victim. As the suspect was leaving, she turned around and flailed her arms at the victim, striking her on the arm. The suspect was described as an African-American female (5’7, stocky build) with a blue baseball cap and a magenta purse. Report number 100904883

Officer Hart and Officer Duffin responded to the report of an argument along with Officers Uang and Obot. They met with the victim who said that an acquaintance was at her home when an argument broke out between them. The suspect grabbed the victim by the throat and choked her momentarily, and then ransacked her home. In the process the suspect broke the victim’s television. The suspect then fled the scene when the victim said she was calling the police. Report number 100906958

SFPD Wilderness Program Update

On Thursday September 23, 2010 the SFPD Wilderness Program provided a day hike to Angel Island State Park. 22 students, 7 parents, and 1 teacher from Leonard R. Flynn Elementary School participated with 2 officers.

Leonard R. Flynn Elementary School participated again on September 24th, 2010 with 20 students, 1 teacher, 2 parents, along with 2 officers.

Officer Pedersen and Officer Murphy were on patrol when they saw a man driving while using a cell phone. They stopped the man, who had a suspended license. They also saw that there was a "crack pipe" inside the car as well. The man was charged with several traffic violations and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. His car was also towed. Officer Hom and Officer Aslam responded to the report of a fight at a bar. The victim, a security guard at the bar, had been assaulted by a patron. The suspect had been acting aggressive toward other customers and tried to fight the victim when he was asked to leave. The man was arrested for battery and being drunk in public. Officers Martinez and Curry responded to a residence where a victim reported that someone had burglarized the home.  The victim told the officer that she observed a black vehicle leaving her driveway as she approached her home.  She did not recognize the vehicle or the Hispanic male driver.  She entered her home and found that entry had been made through a rear sliding window and that numerous electronics and jewelry were stolen from the house.  Report number 100900988

Officers Sugitan and Chang responded to a burglary call.  A victim reported to the officers that she left a second story window open for ventilation and returned home to find that someone had entered through the window and an MP3 player and items of clothing were stolen.  Report number 100901271

Officer McMilton with Officers Polovina and Ocreto responded to a fight between juveniles call on a Muni Bus.  The officers met with the caller who had witnessed the altercation and showed the officers video of the event.  The officers had detained one juvenile who was initially thought to have been involved and upon reviewing the video, determined that he was not involved in the batter.  The suspect and victim were not at the scene.  Report number 100902025

A Hispanic male, 20-30years old, 5’7, 185 lbs, entered a gas station mini-mart and stole three pairs of sunglasses.  The suspect left the store and returned a short while later and stole four more pairs of sunglasses.  The clerk, working alone, did not confront the suspect and called for the police.  Officers Reyes and Curry responded and searched the area for the suspect to no avail.  Report number 100902304

Officer Reyes and Officer Altamirano were on patrol when they saw a man who was wanted from a previous police report. The man had broken into his parents house and stole their phone when they tried to call police. The suspect had a court order which stated that he was to stay away from his parent’s home. Officer Gonzales and Officer Archilla were on patrol when they saw a man place graffiti on a newspaper rack. When the officers stopped to talk with the man, he took off running. The suspect was caught after a foot pursuit and arrested. He was charged with vandalism and resisting arrest. Report number 100899206

Officers Hurwitz and Daggett responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle. The officers found two men inside the vehicle, and saw that they were in possession of heroin and hypodermic syringes. A man responded to a puppy for sale advertisement on the internet and sent money to an address in Africa via Western Union.  The seller contacted the victim and asked for more money or the dog would not be sent.  Believing he was being scammed the victim made a complaint with Western Union who advised the the sent money had already been claimed.  PSA Zabarte completed the incident report.  Report number 100897476

Officer Archilla responded to a vandalism call and met with both witness and suspect.  The witness stated that she observed the suspect scratch a car with an unknown object.  The officer observed the damage.  The suspect stated that he had nothing to do with the damage.  The witness placed the suspect under citizens arrest.  The officer took custody of the suspect then cited and released him at the scene.  Report number 100895511

Officers Tam and Burke conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver of the vehicle had a warrant for his arrest in Berkeley.  The officers took the driver into custody and booked him at Ingleside Station.  Report number 100895276

A man recklessly drove through a neighborhood block party around police barricades blocking the street.  The neighbors, enjoying their event, were shocked and scared that the man may injure or kill any of the numerous adults and children and yelled for him to stop.  The man cursed at the victims and yelled out racial slurs.  The victims took note of the vehicle license plate and the description of the driver and called for the police.  Officers Perez and Reyes responded to the scene and with the information provided to them responded to the house of the owner of the vehicle.  The driver was seen exiting the garage area of the house and the vehicle was seen in the garage.  The officers contacted the suspect and he failed to comply with their lawful commands and fought against the officers.  The suspect was eventually taken into custody.  He was later identified by some of the victims.  He was booked at County Jail.  Report number 100895602

SFCCPD Officers Burlyga and Flood responded to an alarm call and found a subject in a stairwell near the activated door.  The suspect was found to be in possession of a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.  The suspect was arrested and a further search revealed additional narcotics including prescription medication.  The suspect was booked at County Jail.  Report number 100895765

A neighbor called the police after seeing an African American man in all black clothing break into her vehicle.  The suspect then fled the area in a red or maroon Honda Accord. The victim met with the officers and told them that her iPhone had been stolen from the vehicle.  Report number 100893935

Officers Anderson and Morse responded to a robbery call and met with the victim and a witness.  The victim told the officers that she was sitting at the corner when two African American teenage females approached her and stole her backpack from under her legs.  She gave chase and yelled for help and a witness joined the pursuit.  The victim located her bag on Cortland and Andover.  The witness stated that it was dropped when the suspects saw him using his phone to call 911.  Report number 100896008

A young woman was seated on a Muni bus when a man, somewhat known to her and her family, approached her and took the seat next to her.  The suspect then touched the victim inappropriately and spoke to her about his sexual musings.  The woman repeatedly told the suspect to stop bothering her and made noise to attract the attention of other passengers.  The man got off of the bus at Geneva and Naples and is known to frequent that area.  The suspect is known as “Rolando” and is described as an Asian male, 5’1, 135 lbs, black hair, black eyes, 35-39 years old, and is missing his bottom teeth.  Report number 100896406

A witness heard a window smash and looked out the window.  The victim saw two African American males at the passenger side of a neighbors’ vehicle and one of the suspect had his entire upper body inside of the vehicle.  The witness turned on a light and it spooked the suspects who ran away south on Whitney St.  Officer Brown with Officers Burke and Tam, responded and searched the area to no avail.  The officers located a second vehicle with a broken window parked next to the original one.  No loss was reported.  Report number 100896252

They arrived on scene and met with the victim who said that he came out of his house to find that someone had thrown something through his garage door window. Officer Park and Officer Chang responded to the report of a robbery. The victim, a MUNI bus driver, had picked up a man who initially did not have a way to pay the bus fare. The suspect somehow got a bus pass from someone else and boarded the bus, but was verbally abusive toward the driver after boarding. The driver became fed up and asked the suspect to leave the bus. As the suspect left, he snatched a lanyard off of the victim’s neck and ran away. The suspect was described as an African-American male (6’1 180lbs , aged 50-55) wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants. Report number 100891490

Officer Gonzales and Officer Archilla responded to the report of a possible shooting. They located a witness who said that he saw a group of people standing on the sidewalk when he heard a pop. He then saw a man standing in the street who was illuminated by what appeared to be the muzzle flash of a gun being fired. He heard about 10 more shots. No one was injured, and all parties involved had fled the scene. No description of the suspect was available, but a white Nissan Sentra was seen driving away at a high rate of speed. While in plain clothes, Officer Almaguer and Officer Hauscarriague responded to the report of two people attempting to break into cars. They arrived and saw two people matching the given description looking into vehicles and trying door handles. They watched as the two stole a shop vacuum from the bed of a truck and boarded a MUNI bus. The bus was stopped and the two were placed under arrest. One of the suspects was found to be in possession crystal meth. Report number 100888776

As they left, the victim saw a man who he knew and thought of as a friend hanging around the victim’s front door. When the victim returned home, he found that his wallet was missing from the house. The victim suspected the man who had been lingering near his door of the theft and said that there was someone inside the house when the theft occurred. Report number 100886952

The victim was then spoken to by a man claiming to be a detective, who said that the victim needed to wire $5600 to bail his grandson out. The victim did this, not realizing that this was a scam. Officer Henry-Garcia and Officer Dilag responded to the report of an auto-boosting. A witness said that she heard glass breaking outside her residence and looked out to see two men breaking into cars. The suspects walked away from the scene before police arrived. They were described as African-American males (each 6’0 185lbs), one wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans and the other wearing a striped jersey. Report number 100883027

Officer Muro and Officer LaRocca responded to the report of a robbery. The victim was walking down the street when he was approached by two men. One was carrying a “Club” anti-car theft device, and the other a wooden bat. The victim was jabbed by one of the suspects, and he then handed over his wallet. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. They were described as an African-American male (5’7 140 lbs, ages 20-22) wearing a white hoodie and blue sneakers, and a Caucasian male (6’0 160lbs) wearing a white baseball cap and a white t-shirt. The suspect demanded the victim’s iPod and threatened him with harm if he didn’t comply. The victim gave the suspect his iPod and the suspect left the train. The suspect was described as an African-American male (6’03, aged 23) wearing a brown hoodie and blue jeans with brown Nike shoes. Report number 100885443

Officer Gonzales responded to the report of a robbery. The victim said that she was walking down the sidewalk when she felt someone grab her purse and try to take it away. The victim struggle with the suspect and fell down. The suspect continued to assault the victim by kicking her, leaving only after the victim started to scream. The suspect then got into a beige sedan and was driven away. The suspect was an African-American female (5’5 165lbs, aged 19-20) wearing a dark blue sweater. Report number 100885415

The victim said that she was asleep inside when she hear the voice of her mother outside saying something about the victim stealing money from her. The victim then heard the sound of breaking glass. Officer Polovina responded to the report of a person brandishing a knife. The victims had been in an argument with two suspects earlier in the day. As they were now riding on MUNI, the suspects pulled alongside their MUNI train and brandished a knife and indicated that they were going to be waiting for them at the end of the line. The victims called 911 and Officer Polovina spotted the suspect vehicle and detained them. One of the men was charged with brandishing a weapon. Report number 100880653

Officer Aslam and Officer Kneuker were on patrol when they saw a man commit a traffic violation. They stopped and spoke with the man who was on probation with a search condition. A search of the man showed he was in possession of marijuana. The man was issued a citation. Report number 100881526

Officer Contreras responded to the report of a robbery. The victim had been walking down the street when his arms were suddenly grabbed from behind and held behind him.
