Ingleside Officers Dove and Pai were dispatched to an apartment complex after a resident reported a strange man hiding in the complex’s laundry room. The resident told dispatch that the laundry room was closed and not supposed to be used by tenants of the complex. When the officers arrived, they found the man sitting in a chair in the laundry room holding a glass pipe in his hand. When asked what he was doing there, the suspect told the officers he was, “smoking dope”. Officer Pai seized the pipe which had White powder residue inside. The suspect was then arrested and a search turned additional narcotics in his pants pockets and in his back pack. He was transported to Ingleside Station and booked on several charges. 6:45pm       700 Blk Rolph                        Robbery
Officers Naval and Morrow responded to a robbery at the Crocker-Amazon playground. After arriving, the victim told the officers he had just finished a dance rehearsal in the park and was standing with friends on the sidewalk on the 700 block of Rolph, when he saw a large group of juveniles walking toward him. Fearing for his safety, the victim told his friends to run into the home while he tried to lure away the juveniles by running back to the playground. He ran only as far as Geneva and Prague when the juveniles caught up with him and yanked a gold chain from his neck before they escaped. The victim ran to the playground and called police. A few moments later, Ingleside officers Pan and Clifford were flagged down by a citizen, a friend of the robbery victim, who told Pan and Clifford that she was robbed of her IPhone while walking on the 1500 block of Geneva a few minutes after the first robbery. The second victim told the officers she believed the person who took her cell phone may be the same person who took her friends gold chain. Report number: 130428411

The owner of a convenience store called police after being robbed of cash and coins. Ingleside officers Morgante and Imhoff were dispatched to investigate the crime. Upon arrival, the store owner told police that a man walked into his store wearing a “hoodie” sweatshirt and a bandana covering his face. After loading a bullet into the firing chamber, he pointed the gun at the store owner and said, “Give me all your stuff”.  The store owner emptied the cash drawer into a small plastic bag, along with a couple of packs of cigarettes the robber requested. The store owner told the officers the robber then leisurely left the store and escaped in an unknown direction. The store has an extensive video surveillance system which will hopefully provide investigators with clues to the suspect’s identity. Report number: 130426885

Police Services Aide Cato was working at Ingleside Station when a woman approached the station window to report a robbery. The victim told Cato she had just exited the #8 MUNI bus at the corner of Arleta and San Bruno when a man, who was also on the bus, approached her from behind and shouted, “Hey, your IPhone”. Fearing for her safety, the woman started running down the street. However, the robber soon caught up with her and grabbed both her shoulders and then shoved her to the ground. The victim said he then stood over her and pushed her head into the sidewalk. After the assault, he reached into her pocket and removed her phone before running away. The victim, who had a bruise on her forehead, refused medical attention for her injuries. The IPhone did have tracking software but, unfortunately, it was turned off.  MUNI security is searching for surveillance video taken on the bus before the attack. Report number: 130425097

3:25am       700 Blk Ocean               Burglary
Officer Busalacchi and several other Ingleside officers responded to a silent alarm at a local high school.  While en route to the location, Officer Padilla advised over the radio that he was in pursuit of a male subject who they had located hiding near one of the entrances to the school. A female suspect had also fled the scene. Several officers responded to the location where Officer Padilla was and pursued the subject as well.  The subject began jumping over backyard fences and the officers followed him until they were able to catch up to him and take him into custody.  He was transported to Ingleside station pending further investigation.  An arrest search located broken glass in the suspect’s jacket pocket.  A record check revealed the suspect to have several outstanding warrants. Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the female suspect. 

Officer Padilla then advised Officer Busalacchi that the suspect had thrown a backpack in front of an address as he fled the area.  The backpack was later located near the school by Officer Busalacchi.  It contained several laptop computers with tags on them marked with the school’s name.   The officers returned to the school and located a shattered window, which they later determined was the point of entry and exit for the suspects.  They took pictures of the damages and condition of the building for evidence.  A custodian was contacted who was able to secure the school.  CSI was notified and the custodian advised they would be responding to process the scene. 

Officers contacted a responsible party for the school and requested any video surveillance footage they might retrieve.  At the instruction of Sgt. Nakano, the suspect was booked for the burglary. Report Number 130420326

 6:55pm       50 Phelan                      Resisting
SFCCPD Officer Edais was on patrol when he observed a male smoking what appeared to be marijuana on the campus.  As he approached the suspect, the suspect fled from Officer Edais.  Several other City College officers responded to his location and assisted in catching up to the suspect and taking him into custody.  It was later learned that the suspect was not a City College student and was trespassing.  Officers were unable to make a positive identification on the suspect and he was unable to produce any form of identification.  Their search of his person for narcotics was negative.  Because he was unable to be positively identified, the suspect was transported to the county jail and booked accordingly.  Report Number 130422544

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Flynn that he was on a Muni bus when a male approached him, punched him repeatedly and attempted to take his IPod from him.  The victim struggled with the suspect, but the suspect punched him in the back of the head and was able to take the IPod.  The suspect then exited the bus and fled in an unknown direction.  The victim said he would not be able to identify the suspect if he saw him again.  He refused medical treatment.  PSA Flynn contacted Muni dispatch and requested a copy of their surveillance video.  Report Number 130421982

9:51am       300 Blk Crescent           Robbery w/gun

Officer Chang was sent to investigate a panic alarm.  He arrived on scene and spoke to two victims who had just been robbed at gunpoint.  The victims said that they were in the back room when the front door buzzer sounded indicating someone had entered the store.  As they walked back into the front of the store a male suspect approached them, pointed a handgun, motioned toward the register and said, “Give me the money.”  One of the victims emptied the register and placed the money into a hand bag which the suspect placed on the counter.  The suspect then fled the area.  The victims were not injured.  Officer Chang viewed the video surveillance and was provided a copy of it for Ingleside’s investigative team.  Officers searched the area for any sign of the suspect to no avail.  Report Number 130420815

1:40pm       Bernal Hts/Anderson    Narcotics

Officers Clifford and Bernard were on patrol in a marked vehicle when they were sent to investigate a suspicious vehicle.  They located a vehicle matching the description.  There was a male aboard the vehicle and the engine was running.  The officers exited their vehicle and the suspect vehicle drove off.  The officers searched the area for the suspect and the vehicle.  Dispatch then advised that the suspect vehicle crashed into a wall close to their location.  The officers responded to the scene of the accident.  They located the suspect vehicle which had crashed into the wall and found it unoccupied. There was no damage to the wall in question.  A witness at the scene said she heard a loud crash and looked out her window to see a male running from the vehicle.  The male matched the description of the suspect who was driving the vehicle.  Several officers searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.    

At the instruction of Sgt. McDevitt, the vehicle was towed to auto return.  As officers did a tow inventory, they discovered various burglary tools and a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.  They located paperwork indicating who the possible owner of the vehicle was.  The officers ran a record check and were able to positively match the name of the person on the paperwork to the suspect who was driving the vehicle.  Officers took pictures of the vehicle and accident scene and booked them as evidence. 

A presumptive test of the white substance returned positive for methamphetamine.  The narcotics were hand delivered to the narcotics drop box at the Hall of Justice.  Report Number 130421487

1:30am       1000 Blk San Jose          Att. Robbery
Officer Busalacchi and several other Ingleside officers were dispatched to an attempted robbery.  They met with the victim who told them that he was entering a store with some friends when a male outside asked him for money.  The victim gave him a dollar and the man insisted he wanted more money.  The victim attempted to ignore him but the suspect followed him, pulled out a gun and racked the slide.  The victim ran away and called the police.  The victim was not injured and said he could identify the suspect if he saw him again. 

Shortly thereafter, Ingleside officers located and detained an individual matching the suspect description provided by the victim.  They transported the victim to the area where the suspect was detained.  The victim identified the suspect as the person who had pulled a gun on him.  The officers had the victim and his friends write statements regarding the incident.  The suspect was transported to Ingleside station where he was booked at the instruction of Sgt. Deshong.  No gun was recovered.  Report Number 130416886

Officers To and Hornstein responded to assist the victim of a robbery.  The victim said that she was waiting for the bus when two males approached her from behind, grabbed her Iphone and attempted to yank it from her hand.  The victim struggled to keep her phone, but was thrown to the ground and hit her head.  The suspects took the phone and ran into a BART entrance.  The victim contacted the BART attendant, who notified the BART police. The BART police then contacted the San Francisco Police and requested they respond to take the report.  The victim complained of pain to her head from the fall and an ambulance responded to treat her.  She provided a description of the suspects.  Various officers searched the area for the suspects to no avail.  The officers requested BART forward a copy of their video surveillance to the San Francisco Police should they find footage of the robbery. Officer Burke and several other Ingleside officers responded to a possible home invasion.  A woman exited the home claiming several suspects entered her home armed with knives, and that they were still inside the home.  Officers surrounded the home at the instruction of Sgt. Lozada and made announcements identifying themselves as police officers.  They told the suspects to “come out with their hands up.”  There was no response to the announcements.  Officers then knocked at the door.  A woman answered the door and told police that there was no one else inside the home and that she was a resident there.  The woman was escorted out of the home and the home was searched by the officers.  They found no one else inside and determined there was no merit to the burglary call.  Report Number 130419711
