Fegan attempted to stop a stolen Dodge Caravan spotted at the intersection of Sunnydale and Hahn. The van, stolen out of Newark, took off at a high rate of speed but was finally stopped in the 7-11 parking lot on Bayshore Blvd. The driver of the van was placed in custody with possession of stolen property and related crimes. He was also wanted on a no-bail warrant for auto theft out of Alameda County. One of his passengers possessed a significant amount of rock cocaine along with several hundred dollars in cash. He was arrested on narcotics charges. A third passenger was released at the scene. Report number: 1608803088:12pm San Jose & Ocean Malicious Mischief VandalismA motorist driving northbound on San Jose, between Geneva and Ocean, saw a man kick a traffic cone onto the right side of his car. The driver exited the car and asked the suspect why he did that. The suspect didn’t answer but, instead, kept kicking traffic cones into the street. The motorist went to Ingleside Station to file a report. Shortly thereafter, Sgt. Ueber notified dispatch that he had detained the suspect in front of the post office on Onondaga Street. He was taken to Ingleside Station and cited for malicious mischief vandalism after the victim signed a citizen’s arrest form. Geneva WeaponA suspect walked into a service station and gave the clerk a large quantity of pennies to pay for gas. The clerk told Ingleside officers Colclough and Lim he told the customer that he was too busy to count the pennies and he needed to pay with some other currency. Desmond AssaultA woman backing her car out her driveway almost hit an older Volkswagen Jetta driving by. The Jetta stopped and the motorist in the driveway vehicle exited her car and walked up to the Jetta driver and confronted her. The Jetta driver then took out a pepper spray canister and sprayed the other driver in the face before leaving the scene. Ingleside officers Carew and Jensen responded and interviewed the victim. Dispatch notified Ingleside Officers Washington and Landis that the medics noticed two men working on a motorcycle parked near an older model jeep. When the officers arrived they found one of the men near the motorcycle while the other ran away. The one near the motorcycle was placed in handcuffs and the other was quickly located and also placed in custody. The motorcycle was stolen the day before from a nearby address and the Jeep had an expired registration with fake DMV tags. Both vehicles were towed to impound while the two suspect were taken to Ingleside Station and booked for possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. Report number: 1608710067:14pm Unit Blk. Hearst RobberyA street robbery ended with a chase into South San Francisco and the recovery of the stolen items along with the arrest of one robbers. This saga began when a young woman passed a man walking in the opposite direction who said “How are you doing”. The woman smiled and continued walking. When she reached the intersection of Hearst and Circular the young man had walked up behind her and grabbed her purse. He pulled so hard that she fell to the ground while screaming for help. The struggle continued until the robber finally gained control of the purse and ran away to a waiting dark colored Honda Accord. The car sped away just as neighbors, hearing the screams, exited their home and came to help the woman victim. The neighbors called 911 and let the victim use their laptop to track her stolen phone. Ingleside Officers Ahern and Wells arrived on scene to talk to the victim, who said that her purse contained credit cards, makeup, a MacBook Air, wallet, headphones, driver’s license, sunglasses, IPhone, student ID, and a debit card. Shortly before the officers arrived on scene, Ingleside Sgt. Jefferson and Officer Pheng notified dispatch that a dark colored Honda Accord had ran a stop sign at Monterey and Circular Avenue. When the officers tried to stop the vehicle it sped away at high rate of speed down Monterey and onto Highway #280. When the victim logged onto the neighbor’s laptop she found her stolen phone and computer had been turned off in the neighborhood of Oyster point and Gateway Boulevards in South San Francisco. Multiple Ingleside units responded to that address and Ingleside Officers Hardy and Scott spotted the suspect’s vehicle in a parking lot on the 800 block of Gateway Blvd. The officers attempted to pull the Honda over, but it sped away southbound on Gateway Blvd before crashing into the rear end of another Honda Accord at Gateway and East Grand Avenue. Witnesses told the pursuing officers that the suspects jumped out of their vehicle and scaled the fence of a nearby PG&E facility. The officers placed a perimeter around the facility and Ingleside Officers Archilla, Seavey, and Padilla entered the PG&E facility and found one of the suspects lying on his back moaning from his injuries. He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and then booked for numerous crimes. Inside the crashed getaway car the officers recovered all of the items stolen from the victim. In addition they seized two smartphones, a black beanie cap, a black ski-mask and black hoodie, and various legal documents. Report number: 16087359111:30pm Brussels & Ward BurglaryAn alert neighbor spotted four people casing a white van parked on the block. Two of the four people were sitting in a Jaguar convertible with paper plates. The neighbor called police and Ingleside Officers Carew and Jensen soon arrived on scene. With the help of Officers Toomey, George, Hawkins, Ortega, and Sgt. Ueber, the officers placed the suspects in custody. Inside the Jaguar, which was a stolen vehicle, they found items taken from the white van along with a shaved keys used to enter the vehicle. All suspects were arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of an illegal weapon, and other crimes. Two of the suspects are on probation for auto theft and all the suspects have an extensive criminal history involving auto theft and related crimes. The victim told Ingleside Officers Valenzuela and Rodriquez that he left his nearby home and stood at the corner of Velasco and Santos waiting for a MUNI bus. Within five minutes an unknown male approached him and pulled a semi-automatic gun from his pocket, pointed it at the victim, and asked for money. The victim handed his wallet to the suspect and begged for him to give him back the ID he needed for his employment[HAN1] . The suspect complied and handed him back his ID but kept the $120 cash from the wallet. The suspect asked for the victim’s cell phone but he didn’t have one. The suspect then put away his gun and walked away. Report number: 1608682858:07pm 50 Phelan Ave. Trespassing/NarcoticsA report of a suspicious person sent Community College Police Officers Flood and Palacios to the basement of the campus’ Multiuse Building. When they arrived on scene the officers found a non-student male suspect, who had been escorted off campus the previous day for screaming and acting belligerent. He was told the day before not to venture on campus again or he would be booked for trespassing. The officers placed him in custody and drove him to Ingleside Station where he was booked for trespassing and for possession of narcotics. In one of his pockets the officers found a quantity of methamphetamine and a pipe used to smoke the substance. Inside the home they found a male victim dead and the suspect standing nearby. The suspect and victim were acquainted. The suspect was immediately taken into custody and eventually transported to the County Jail where he was charged with homicide. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
