Arrests:

11:40am              400 Cortland                Stolen Property

Officer Rueca was dispatched to a call regarding stolen property. The suspect came into the store wanting to purchase a battery charger for the electric bike he had in his possession. The store Employee then obtained the serial # from the bike, and looked up the info in the files. The employee found out that the bike was purchased a few months earlier by a resident in the area. Fearing that the bike might be stolen, she proceeded to call the police. Officer Rueca arrived and contacted the original owner of the bike. The owner informed the officer that the electric bike was in fact stolen from his residence, and no one should be in possession of his bike. With the information given, Officer Rueca placed the suspect under arrest and booked for possession of stolen property. Report Number 120861702

Officers Bernard and Chew responded to a report of a fight. The officers arrived on the scene and saw the victim lying in the street being cared for by bystanders. The victim was transported to General Hospital where he was given proper medical treatment. The officers met with a witness who informed the officers of the situation. The victim and a suspect were standing at a bus stop when the suspect stated “stop talking s***, or my brothers are going to wipe you out.” To which the victim replied “I’m not talking s*** to you…I’m cool, I’m cool, I’m cool.” Moments later three other suspects arrived at the bus stop. The suspect pointed to the suspect saying “that’s the guy.” The suspects punched the victim in the head, which knocked him to the ground. Once the victim was on the ground the suspects began to kick him. All four suspects then ran down Mission Street, and were out of sight. Officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results. Report Number 120881299

Officer Pubill was working station duty when a victim came in to file a report of a robbery. The victim stated he was walking down the street when an unknown suspect came up behind him and punched his face. The victim fell to the ground and hit his head. As the victim was lying on the ground, a second suspect rifled through the victims pockets and took money. The two suspects then fled the scene. The victim informed the officer that he would be able to identify the suspects if he saw them again. Report Number 120885893

Arrests:

12:57am     Mission/Silver                Robbery Arrest

Officer Morrow and Naval were on patrol when they were flagged down by a male, later identified as the victim. He told the officers he just been robbed by a group of five males and pointed at the group walking away. Officer Morrow noticed the suspect throwing unknown object over the fence as they pulled up to the group with guns drawn and ordered all the five guys down to their knees. All five males were detained and put into handcuffs for further investigation. The victim stated he and his friend were standing on a corner near the bus stop when he noticed a group of five males crossing the street towards him. One of the suspects asked him if he had money in his backpack. The victim replied “No”; however, the suspect grabbed his backpack from his back and proceeded to go through all his pockets taking his wallet and his phone.

The suspects then proceeded to walk away. Officers then searched the area where the suspect threw an unknown object over the fence and recovered their wallet and phones. The officers then conducted a cold show with the two victims and they positively identify the two suspects that were involved in the robbery. The two suspects were then transported to Ingleside Station where they were booked for robbery. Report Number 120878321. Because of the quick response, reaction and keen observation skills, theses two officers were able to stop the five suspects and recover the stolen property. Two more thugs are removed from our streets! That is why this is ***The Best Arrest of the Day*** 

1:25pm       Unit blk Brookdale       Burglary Arrest

Officers Peregoy, Hopkins and Trail were sent to investigate a burglary. The caller on the 911 line was whispering to the dispatcher that they saw 4 suspects break into an apartment near. With only a description of the location, our Housing officers immediately responded to the area. The caller said that they could see that the suspects had set up “look outs” for the police. The officers got to the location they thought was correct. They immediately saw a suspect text message someone when he saw the officers arrive. 

            Shortly after the officers saw subjects come out of a unit and stand in the front door and smoke a cigarette. The subject watched the officers as they made their way down towards him. The officers saw that as they got closer, the subject walked away from the door entrance and past them. The officers asked him if he lived there and he replied “No”. The subject was detained and it was at this point that Officer Hopkins recognized him as a local gang member.
            The officers noticed a broken window from the apartment whose door the”now” suspect, was detained.  The officers went to the front door and found it to be unlocked. When the officers opened the door they saw three other gang members that, they know, do not live there. The officers yelled out, by name, for the suspects to stop. The suspects dropped what they were carrying and ran out the back door. The officers chased them but too many suspect for the officers. Other Ingleside officers arrived to assist. 
            The officers had one suspect in custody and there that they knew personally. Officers searched the area for the outstanding suspects with negative results. The in custody suspect was booked for conspiracy, burglary, delaying and did we mention that he had a warrant for…burglary? CSI responded to process the scene and warrants will be issued for the suspects that think…they got away. Report number 120879705. Good memory and instinct was the main reason these officers were able to catch one suspect and identify three others in this burglary. This makes this arrest ***The Best Arrest of the Day***

Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report for a robbery victim that responded to the station. The victim told the PSA that while waiting for her ride to work, a suspect approached her and demanded her cell phone. The victim told the PSA that she told the suspect that she was not going to give him her phone as a struggle ensued. The suspect was able to forcibly able to get the phone then fled the scene. The victim was not injured and never threatened by the suspect. report number 120880150

Officers Marino and numerous Ingleside officers responded to a burglary in progress. When the officers arrived they spoke with the 911 caller who told them the following information. The witness was at home when they observed two male suspects walking out of the house next door with items. The witness became suspicious when she observed that the two suspects were black males and they knew that the neighbors are Chinese.  The witness observed the suspects walking out with jewelry that is when they called 911. The suspects made off with over $3000 of electronics and jewelry. CSI was notified and responded to process the scene. report number 120787707

Officers Hom and Leong were dispatched regarding an assault. The officers located the victim told the officers that he was waiting for his friends when he felt someone grab him from behind. The victim went on to say that he felt someone go through his pockets for his belongings. He then heard about 4-6 people yelling for him to grab his phone. After the suspects were unsuccessful, the victim was thrown against a fence while the suspects kicked and punched him repeatedly. The victim then crawled to Kentucky Fried Chicken across the street where he called the police. Report Number 120880611

Arrests:

5:12pm       3300 blk Mission                     Warrant Arrest
Sergeant Alvarez, Officer Almaguer, and Officer Johnson were in an unmark vehicle when they noticed a white male with several tattoos around his facial area. With prior knowledge and information that the officers had they knew that the suspect had a no bail warrant for his arrest. The officers exited their vehicle and identified themselves by displaying their stars, and asked the suspect to identify himself. The suspect told officers he was on active parole and did not check with his parole agent for over a year. He then told officers he had a warrant out for his arrest. Once the suspect was put into handcuffs, officers conducted a criminal check and confirmed the suspect still had a no bail warrant.  Officers then searched the suspect and located two small plastic baggies. One of which was suspected it to be methamphetamine and the other to be marijuana. The suspect was then transported to Ingleside Station for processing and booking. Report Number 120877094. By paying attention to wanted criminals in the Ingleside District, this parolee at large was captured without incident! This makes one less criminal on the streets. Officer Trail and Peregoy responded to a call regarding shots fired. Dispatch advised that a vehicle crashed into a car and a male suspect  fled the scene. Once at the scene officers were approached by an unknown female who stated her nephew was the one who was driving the vehicle. Officers were then directed to the residence of her nephew. Upon arrival the victim stated while he was talking to a female and asked her for phone number he noticed 6 males running towards him and heard gun shots. The victim then jumped into his car and drove off only to crash into a couple of cars and fleeing on foot to his grandmother’s house. Upon further investigation officers notices the vehicle was stuck twice in the back window and once in the trunk. The evidence was then transported and booked at Ingleside Station. Officer Benavidez and Ma responded to call regarding possible shots fired. When the officers arrived they made contact with the victim and a witness. The victim stated she returned home from work when she noticed someone running towards her on the sidewalk. She panicked got back into her vehicle locking herself inside. The suspect then began hitting the driver side window with an unknown object attempting to break it. The victim then moved into the passenger seat while screaming for help. Without any success breaking the window, the suspect fled on foot. Reporting Number 120878064

Officer Sugitan to investigate a call regarding a burglary of apartment. Once he arrived he met with the victim who told him that he left his house for a few hours only to return to it being burglarized. The victim told officers his son did not completely lock the bathroom window which was said to be the entry point.  The victim’s television, currency, and jewelry were taken from the apartment.

7:17pm       4900 blk Mission                    Theft/Arrest/Cite
Officers Ocreto and Quintero were sent to investigate a theft at a local grocery store. The officers arrived to find that the store security had someone in custody. The security officers told the officers that they watched the suspect come into the store and walked straight to the liquor section. The security watched as the suspect put a bottle of rum into her purse and walked to the front of the store. The suspect walked past all of the registers, never once stopping to pay for the rum. The security officers followed the suspect outside and after a short brisk chase…three steps, the suspect was taken into detention. The suspect was arrested and then cited to appear in court. The rum was returned. Report number 120874476

Officers Seavey and Padilla were sent to investigate a robbery case. The officers located the victim and were told the following information. As the victim was walking home she saw two suspects running towards her. The victim said that she crossed the street only to have the two suspects shadow her and cross as well. The victim told the officers that she turned away to walk away from the suspects only to feel them grab her from behind.

The victim told officers that it was at this point when she saw the gun. The suspect pushed the gun into the victims face and demanded she give up her purse. The victim said that she begged the suspects for her to keep some of her property. The suspects told her to “shut up”. The suspects took the victims property and fled the scene. The suspects are described as two black males between 18-20 armed with a gun. The victim was not injured in this incident. Report number 120871115

Police Services Aide Zabarte prepared a report regarding a hot prowl burglary. The victim came to the station and told the PSA that while she was at home with her 3 year old son she heard a suspect trying to get into her apartment by forcing the bathroom window. The victim told the PSA that she screamed as loud as she could and that the suspect fled. The victim responded to the station for the report. There were no injuries or loss in this case. Officers Obot and Johnson were dispatched to investigate a street robbery incident.  The victim told the officers that she was waiting for the bus when she saw two suspects walking to her. The victim told the officers that she knew the male suspect but not the female. The female suspect demanded to use the victims’ phone but she refused. The bus that the victim was waiting for arrived, so the victim attempted to get on it. 

The female suspect blocked her from getting on the bus and told the male suspect to” get the gun”. The victim got scared and tried walking away. The female suspect then reached into the victims pocket to pull put her wallet. During the struggle for the wallet, it fell out onto the ground. The female suspect yelled out to the male suspect to pick it up. The known male suspect grabbed and walked to a store with the wallet and a group of people that watched the entire robbery tale place and did nothing. The suspects then casually walked away. The victim went home and called the police. Officers were able to confirm the known suspect identity and will request an arrest warrant for him. Report number 120874589

6:03pm       100 blk Brookdale                 Assault

Officers Obot and Johnson went to a call of a stabbing on the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue. When they arrived, they found the victim standing outside in front of a residence with no shirt on and applying pressure against what appeared to be a puncture wound. Officer Obot spoke with the residents inside who told him that the victim came to his front door with a stab wound to his stomach, therefore the police were called. The victim stated the incident occurred mid-block of Brookdale Avenue. Officer Suguitan and his partner, Officer Fung, went to that location and were able to determine that the other subject involved in the fight was the victim’s step father. The victim went to visit his mother at her residence. Once inside a heated verbal argument erupted between the victim and the suspect, which turned physical. During the altercation the suspect stabbed the victim twice in the stomach with a box cutter and left the scene in his vehicle. The officers found out that the suspect resided in the Bayview district and coordinated with Bayview officers to go out to see if they could locate him. Several moments later, Officers August and Thompson located the suspect just as he arrived at his residence. The suspect was arrested and booked for the aggravated assault. Report Number 120870286

2:45pm       Sunnydale/Schwerin              Robbery

Officers Sugitan and Fung responded to the area of Sunnydale and Schwerin on a call of a robbery that had just occurred. When they arrived, they found the victim who was bleeding from his face. They called out medics to the scene to tend to his injuries. The victim said he left his home, which is in Daly City, and walked towards Sunnydale and Schwerin to catch the Muni bus going to Downtown San Francisco. While heading to his destination, He noticed that he was being followed by four suspects. He crossed the street, but saw that they were still following him. One of the suspects then ran towards him and punched him on the face, which caused him to fall to the ground and momentarily lost consciousness. When the victim regained consciousness, a second suspect joined in and continued attacking him. They then went through his pockets looking for items to take. The victim said he did not have anything in his pockets at the time of the robbery, and therefore the suspects ran away empty handed. The victim was treated at the scene. Report Number 120869869

6:35pm       4900 blk Mission                    Theft

The victim and her brother walked into Tenderloin Station and spoke to Officer Gonzalez and requested to make a theft report. The victim said she was searching on Craigslist for a vehicle to purchase. She ran across an ad regarding a Volkswagen Jetta for sale. She called the phone number listed and spoke with a male suspect. The suspect told the victim that his girlfriend would meet them in San Francisco and proceeded to set up an arrangement to meet on the 4900 block of Mission Street. The victim and her brother went to the location and met with the female suspect. The victim liked the car, therefore signed the Certificate of Title and purchased the car for $11,400.00 dollars. The victim and the suspect then parted ways. A couple days later, the victim went to DMV and was told the Certificate of Title they had was “Fake”. Officer Gonzalez conducted a computer inquiry on the license plate which revealed that the vehicle belonged to Hertz Vehicles. Officer Gonzalez then spoke to a Hertz representative and told him that the car was supposed to be returned in San Jose, but the car was never returned. The victim eventually returned the car to Hertz and the investigation is still on-going. Report Number 120879341.

11:15pm     Excelsior/Mission                    Stabbing

Sergeant Alvarez contacted Officers Paras and Shugars, who were patrolling in the area of Excelsior and Mission Street, of a vehicle in the area that could possibly have a stabbing victim inside of it. Sergeant Alvarez provided the officers with a description of the vehicle. Officers Parras and Shugars spotted the vehicle as it drove Northbound on Mission Street from Excelsior Avenue. The driver of the vehicle told the officers that his friend was just stabbed and were driving him to the hospital. Due to the emergency circumstances, the officers followed the vehicle to San Francisco General Hospital. Once they arrived, the victim said he was standing on Excelsior Avenue celebrating the World Champion San Francisco Giants sweeping the Detroit Tigers in four games to win the World Series, when he felt something impact his chest. The victim said it did not feel like a punch, so he lifted up his shirt and saw the blood. The victim walked down the block and saw a truck he recognized as his friends truck and told them he was just stabbed. His friends then began to drive him to the hospital. The victim said he did not see who stabbed him because the area was crowded with people celebrating the World Series. Report Number 120870888.

Arrests:

2:00am       4700 Blk Mission          Agg. Assault

Officers Dominguez and Carrasco were on patrol when they noticed two cars facing the wrong direction. The officers noticed a victim lying on the ground screaming in pain, as two suspects stood over him. One suspect kicked the victims’ side and raised a baseball bat over his head. The officers ordered the suspect to drop his weapon and to get on the ground. The suspect then handed the other suspect his weapon and proceeded to lie on the ground. The officers then ordered the second suspect to drop his weapon and lay on the ground. The second suspect threw the bat under one of the cars and got on the ground. The victim was transported to general hospital and was treated for his injuries. The suspects were booked and arrested at Ingleside Station. Report Number 120865895. These officers were paying attention to their surroundings and saved this victims life two more suspects in jail! That is why this is ***The Best Arrest of the Day***

Officer Johnson, Campos, Burke and Sgt Alvarez were on patrol when they noticed two suspects walking down the street turn around and look in their direction. The Officers parked their vehicle and made a casual encounter with the two suspects. A record check showed that one of the suspects had an active warrant for his arrest with a bail of $10,000. The officers also found methamphetamine on the suspect and he was transported to Ingleside Station. The second suspect was released from the scene without incident. The officers arrested the suspect and booked him at Ingleside Station. The narcotics were booked into evidence at 850 Bryant. Report Number 120867352

Officer Howard was on station duty when a victim in to file a report of a robbery. The victim stated he waiting for a bus when an unknown suspect approached him with a knife and demanded the victim to hand over money. The victim was afraid of being stabbed and handed the suspect cash. The suspect then searched the victims’ pockets and took a cell phone along with an IPhone. The victim informed the officer that he was not sure he would be able to identify the suspect if he saw him again. The officer informed Inspector Sgt Gasanyan of the incident. Officers Hom and Dilag responded to a call regarding a robbery. Since the victim spoke limited English, the victim’s daughter translated the conversation. The victim informed the officers that he was waiting for the bus when an unknown suspect struck him over his head causing him to fall to the ground. When the victim looked up he saw five unknown suspects surrounding him as they stole his wallet. The suspects ran away with the victims’ wallet in hand. The officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results. The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Report Number 120867932

11:52pm     Sunnydale /Schwerin    Firearm

Officer Barajas and Lustenberger were doing target enforcement in the area because there had been two robberies in the area. While patrolling the area, the officers noticed three male subjects matching the description of one of the robbery suspects. As one of the officers exited the car in attempt to detain the subjects’, one suspect started to run. As this pursuit started the officer observed the suspect throw an object into the backyard of a resident. The officers relayed the information to responding units while continuing to chase the suspect. The suspect managed to run inside a complex and into a unit.

            The officers waited for backup and then searched the unit where they saw the suspect run into and located the suspect in an upstairs bedroom hiding. The then officers took the suspect into custody. The officers went back to the location they observed the suspect throw something over the fence to search. To the officers surprise they discovered a fully loaded semi-automatic pistol.

Police Services Aide Cato prepared a report regarding a robbery involving an unknown suspect. The victim cellular phone was stolen as she waited for the MUNI bus in front of Balboa BART Station. The victim was browsing through her phone when the suspect approached her from behind and attempted to grab her phone. After a brief struggle the suspect was able to overpower the victim and fled towards the MUNI Metro Station out of view. Report Number 120864706

Lieutenant Engler and Sergeant Deshong were on patrol when they were flagged down. The victim was robbed on the MUNI 8X by two suspects. The victim told the officers that she noticed the suspects walking towards her as they got up to get off the bus. One of the suspects pulled her backpack which was over her shoulders in an attempt to get it off. After a brief struggle, the victim was punched multiple times during this incident. The victim’s property fell out as the suspects grabbed them. The two suspects fled the scene on Hahn Street. Report Number 120865312

Officers Seavey and Padilla were dispatched to investigate a robbery incident.  The victim told the officers that she was on the MUNI bus talking on her cellular phone when a handful of males and females boarded the bus and sat near her.  One of the males began to exit the bus when he grabbed her cellular phone from her and yanked it from her hand.  All of the suspects then exited the bus and ran off in an unknown direction.  Officers searched the area and detained a few suspects nearby who matched the description of those on the bus.  The victim was unable to positively identify the suspects and they were released at the scene.  The victim said she was not injured and refused medical assistance.  Officers requested a copy of the surveillance tape from MUNI dispatch.  Report Number 120865594
