6:39am                5200 Blk Diamond Heights Blvd                        Warrant

Officers Lim and Valenzuela were inside a grocery store.  They both saw a man attempting to flee the store holding several packages of meat.  They noticed an employee following the man.  The officers contacted the subject who spontaneously apologized for attempting to steal the items.  The officers investigated further and discovered the subject was wanted on several outstanding warrants.  He was taken into custody and booked for theft and his warrants. 12:35pm              Sunnydale Ave/Rey St                                        Warrant

Officers Parker and Burke were on patrol and pulled over a car for failing to stop at a stop sign.  The driver did not have a license, which she admitted to upon contact with the officers.  She also had several outstanding warrants.  The officers took her into custody without further incident.  Report 160482932

Officers Hopkins and Henderson spotted a subject with an opened container of alcohol.  The officers stopped and contacted the man.  A records check revealed that the subject had several outstanding warrants.  The officers were able to take the man into custody without further incident.  Report 160483231

Officer Hermosura responded to a call of a burglary.  The victims were visiting the residents and staying in a garage unit.  They were awakened by movement in the garage but figured it was one of the residents headed out for a bicycle ride.  Several minutes later, they heard more noises and realized how early it was in the morning.  They opened the door and saw a suspect in the garage rifling through items.  The victims screamed at the suspect to get out of the garage and the suspect fled.  One of the residents realized that his bicycle was missing.  Report 160482186

 

7:42pm                2600 Blk Bayshore Blvd                                     Robbery

Officers Parker and Burke were dispatched to a report of a robbery.  They arrived at the store and spoke with the manager.  He told the officers that two suspects entered the store and using a cart, began collecting items including a machete.  The suspects pushed the cart out of the store without attempting to pay for the items.  Two employees followed the suspects and confronted them in front of the store.  One suspect opened the packaging of the machete and pointed it towards the employees aggressively.  The employees, fearing for their safety, let the suspects go.  They fled with the goods they stole still in the cart.  Report 160482766

7:12am                      Brazil & La Grande                     Recovered Vehicle

Keen eyed Ingleside officers Trujillo and Tupper were on routine patrol when they spotted a man and a woman standing near a 2014 Toyota Corolla. What caught their eye was the back window was broken and covered with tape. A lot of stolen cars have that telltale clue. The officers decided to run the license plate and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from a San Francisco address. The officers pulled up next to the vehicle and placed all occupants in handcuffs. The driver had in his pockets identification cards belonging to someone else. He was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property. His passengers were released at the scene. Report number: 160473583

 

11:40am                         3100 Block Mission                      Warrant Arrest

A man walked into a hardware store, picked up a basket of tools, and walked out without paying. Employees called police while the manager followed the man on the street as both traveled northbound on Mission. Less than a block away, Ingleside officers Adams, Devlin, Tien, and Cvetovac caught up with the pair and placed the thief under arrest. A computer check revealed he was wanted three outstanding warrants from Nevada County. Report number: 160480328

2:28pm                       600 Blk. Andover                                          Robbery

Ingleside officers Johnson, Williams, Dominguez, Chew, Zasly, Barajas, and Cvetovac were dispatched to a store on Andover Street to investigate a report of a robbery. When the officers arrived they found a store employee holding a bloody towel to his head and blood dripping down the left side of his face. An ambulance was summoned and while they waited for its arrival, the employee told the officers that his injuries were caused by an attack from one of three young male robbers. The incident began when one of the three entered the store and asked to buy cigarettes. When the clerk asked for identification the young man left the store. A few minutes later the same man entered the store this time with a male companion. The clerk noticed a third man waiting outside. One of the two in the store grabbed some sodas and left the store without paying. The clerk chased the robber but stopped when he realized the thief’s companion was still in the store. So the employee went back to the store and saw the other thief behind the counter stealing cigarettes. The clerk attempted to stop the thief from leaving by holding on to him. But the thief pushed him to the ground and ran from the store only to return a few moments later to again wrestle with the store owner.  During the tussle, the clerk was pushed to the ground hitting his head on some metal shelves, which left a large deep laceration. The thief left for a third time pushing a rack of wine bottles to the floor on the way out of the store. The clerk was taken to Seton Medical Center where physicians used twelve stitches to close his wound. Report number: 160480588

1:58am                         4000 Blk. Folsom                     Hot Prowl Burglary

A fourteen year old boy awoke to use the bathroom while his parents were asleep in another room. As he walked in the hallway towards the bathroom he was suddenly met by an unknown woman. The woman, never spoke, but instead ran out the front door of the residence. The parents called police and Ingleside officers Dilag and MacKenzie responded and talked to the family who said the son’s laptop computer was stolen by the intruder. The officers were told the intruder most likely entered through an unlocked front door. Report number: 160476559

 

12:16pm                            4800 Blk. Mission                                  Shooting

A report of “shots fired” sent Ingleside officers Cvetovac, Hornstein, Gil, Zasly, Johnson, and Sgt. Martin to investigate the incident. When they arrived they found bullet casings and shell casings in the street. A vehicle and a nearby business had also suffered damage from bullets. The officers reviewed nearby surveillance video and observed gunfire erupting from either or both two vehicles passing each other in opposite directions on Mission Street. The case has been assigned to the Ingleside Station Investigative Team. Report number: 160477422

Another “shots fired” report sent Ingleside officers Calupad and Dungca to a home on the 300 block of Richland. When they arrived they found a young man holding a towel to a wound near his right eye. The officers summoned an ambulance and talked to the man who said he and friends were listening to music in the garage of the home when they heard a knock at a side door near the garage. The victim answered the door and an unknown man, holding a flare gun, fired a projectile hitting him in the face. The victim told the officers he had no idea why he was attacked. One of the attributes of a good police officer is having a long memory of previous people arrested, sometimes leading to a familiar question asked of many suspects, “Don’t I know you?” On this afternoon Ingleside officers Padilla, Lustenberger and Seavey were driving through the intersection of Pope and Cross Streets when they spotted a man with an outstanding warrant for his arrest walking eastbound on Pope Street. When the officers stopped and exited their patrol car, the suspect took off running eastbound on Pope Street. Fleet footed officer Padilla gave chase while officer Seavey and Lustenberger drove the patrol car ahead of the fleeing suspect and blocked the street. Officer Padilla caught up with the suspect, and after a short struggle, was able to place him under arrest. A search of his clothing turned up a fixed blade knife and a driver’s license, social security card, and bank cards reported stolen from vehicles in San Francisco. The suspect also had two felony San Francisco Superior Court warrants for burglary and theft. He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked for the warrants and possession of stolen property. An argument among three friends resulted in one of them going to the hospital for stitches. Two of the three friends told Ingleside officers Shih and Zhao that the three had been drinking most of the night when they decided it was time to go home. One of the three called an “Uber”. But one of the others was impatient and said he would walk home. An argument ensued and one man kicked another in the leg before picking up a glass and throwing it at the other man hitting him in the head. But he wasn’t finished. He then picked up a full bottle of whiskey and shattered it over his friend’s head. The suspect then ran out of the house and the remaining two partyers called police. An ambulance arrived to take the victim to St. Luke’s Hospital for stitches. Report number: 160474321

A man’s son returned home late at night and parked his car in the garage. However he failed to close the garage door and when his father awoke the next morning he found items missing from his son’s vehicle and his car. Ingleside officers Curry and Trujillo responded and noted that the burglar or burglars only took sunglasses and a GPS unit from the vehicles and fortunately did not enter the main floor of the home. A young boy, doing his homework, earned an “A” grade from his father and the police. The young student was on the second floor of his home when he looked outside and saw a strange man inside his family’s SUV. He ran downstairs and told his dad, “There’s someone stealing from our car”. His father ran outside and confronted the burglar asking him, “Hey, what are you doing”. The burglar, didn’t answer, but instead started walking away through the neighborhood with the father following, at a safe distance, calling police. The suspect then boarded an eastbound Muni bus just as Ingleside Sgt. Carew was traveling to the scene of the crime. The victim flagged down Sgt. Carew and together, along with Ingleside Sergeants Tupper, Maron, Ly, and Ingleside officers Alday and Ali stopped the Muni bus, boarded the vehicle, and arrested the suspect. 10:48pm                          100 Blk. Cordova          Search Warrant

Ingleside Sgt. Alvarez along with Ingleside officers Padilla, Seavey, Lustenberger, and Barajas were assigned the dangerous task of serving a search warrant at the home of a suspect with a long criminal narcotics history. The five officers were preparing to enter his residence when Sgt. Alvarez observed the suspect exit a car and walk into a nearby market. Sgt. Alvarez and officer Barajas followed the suspect into the market and the suspect, spotting the two officers, unsuccessfully attempted to escape by running to the back of the store. He was quickly caught and placed in handcuffs. The officers then went to his nearby residence on Cordova Street and searched the premises for evidence. Inside several rooms they found a large quantity of methamphetamine along with the items necessary for selling and packaging the narcotics. They also found approximately twenty thousand dollars in cash, along with a firearm and a significant quantity of ammunition. The suspect was booked for possession of narcotics for sale along with being a felon illegally possessing firearms and ammunition. Report number: 160473919

Officers Stucki, Labson, and Branche were on patrol when they were dispatched to a report of an argument occurring between two individuals.  Upon arrival, they made contact with the 911 caller. The caller told the officers that he saw the suspect getting into arguments with several people on a MUNI bus.  The suspect then turned towards the caller and began yelling at him.  The caller was afraid that the arguments would escalate into a physical confrontation and thought he should contact police.  The officers made contact with the suspect, who was still sitting on the bus.  The officers noticed that the suspect looked angry.  The officers detained the suspect and upon further investigation, discovered the suspect had an outstanding warrant.  The officers took the suspect into custody without further incident.  Report 160466908

Officers Hornstein and Gil responded to a report of a purse snatch.  They contacted the victim who told them that as she was walking on the sidewalk, she saw a suspect riding a bicycle towards him.  As the suspect passed her, he grabbed her wallet that was strapped to her wrist.  The suspect pulled the victim to the ground and dragged her for several feet.  The strap of her wallet finally broke and the suspect fled.  Medics arrived to treat the victim for minor injuries.  Report 160467279
