Arrests:

1:23pm       900 Blk Persia              Marijuana Offense
Another driver played the no win game of “please stop me officer”, by rolling at speed through a stop sign right in front of a parked police car. This time, as countless times before, the officers obliged the driver by pulling him over to issue a traffic violation. This time, Ingleside Officers Campos and Thompson found the driver and three passengers inside an older BMW with all the windows down and the unmistakable smell of marijuana coming from the car. The driver was licensed and the car had current registration and insurance. So the driver was given a citation. However, of the two passengers in the back seat one was on parole. All denied having any marijuana in the car, despite the smell. A search of their backpacks proved that false. One had about 50 grams of marijuana and the other had an almost equal amount of hash oil in a jar. Both did not have medical marijuana cards and both were cited for narcotics violation. Report number: 150841768

Serious Incidents:

4:00pm       Arleta/Bayshore            Att. Robbery
PSA Cato and Ingleside Officer Suguitan were on duty at Ingleside Station when a man and his sister walked in to report an attempted robbery. The victim said he was standing by the rear door, with a backpack, of a bus on the #8 MUNI line when it stopped at Arleta and Bayshore. As passengers boarded and exited the bus, a man came up behind the victim and grabbed his backpack. The victim resisted as the suspect dragged him off the bus. The two fought and, at one point, the suspect lifted the victim in the air and threw him to the ground severely injuring his elbow. The fight continued for several minutes with the victim refusing to surrender his property until another MUNI bus arrived and the suspect boarded the vehicle which then left the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital by his sister for treatment of his injuries. Report number: 150842302

10:42am     San Jose/Shawnee             Robbery w/Force
A man and woman were violently robbed of their possessions while walking on the street. The victims told Ingleside Officers Franceschi, Hardy, and Scott that the suspect suddenly struck the male victim in the face while grabbing his cell phone and wallet. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect struck the victim again before taking his property. A second suspect grabbed the purse strap of the female victim causing her to fall to the ground and surrendering her purse. Both suspects escaped by running northbound towards Niagara Street. The loss was two cell phones, ATM cards, less than $100 in cash, and a passport. Both victims were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Ingleside officers searched the surrounding area for the suspects without success. Report number: 150843190

Arrests:

1:46pm       700 Blk Moscow             Traffic Violation/Narcotics
Many times criminals will arrest themselves by their inattentive action. That was the case on this day when Ingleside Officers Campos and Thompson spotted the driver of an older Toyota as he drifted through a stop sign on Moscow Street. The officers stopped the driver and asked to see his driver’s license, insurance, and registration. The motorist had none of the items necessary to drive a car. The insurance and registration was missing and, he claimed, his driver’s license was at home. A computer query turned up his license was suspended. He was placed in custody and the officers searched the vehicle discovering several packages of methamphetamine. He was cited for the vehicle code violations and for possession of narcotics. His car was towed to the impound yard. Report number: 150838602
