Arrests:

0:22am       Geneva/Paris                 Reckless Driving
Officers Jones and Lozano were on patrol when they located a vehicle parked with its lights on.  They had been searching for the vehicle and its driver a few minutes earlier as the driver was driving reckless, committing several vehicle code violations.  The driver was still aboard the vehicle.  As he exited the vehicle, the officers detained him.  They advised him that they had observed him driving recklessly.  The driver denied the accusations and presented his California Driver’s License as identification.  He was issued a citation for the violations.  Report Number 120329352

3:39pm       Geneva/Mission            Warrant
Officers Hurwitz and Tam were on patrol surveilling an area known for drug trafficking.  They observed a male loitering on the corner who they knew from previous contacts.  The male was approached repeatedly by people and the officers considered his behavior suspicious.  They decided to make contact with him.  A record check revealed he had an outstanding warrant and he was transported to Ingleside station.  The warrant was confirmed and the suspect was booked into custody.  Report Number 120060960

5:01pm       Sunnydale/Santos          Theft
Officer Obot and several other Ingleside officers were on patrol in the area of the Sunnydale Housing Projects when they observed several males running and what appeared to be another male running after them.  The officers believed a crime may have been committed and began following them.  The officers caught up with the suspects and detained them, to no avail.  The victim followed Officer Obot where he had one of the suspects detained.  The suspect handed the officer a cellular phone.  The victim yelled, “That’s my cell phone officer.   That’s the guy that took my cell phone on the bus.”  The detained suspect was transported to Ingleside station.

Officers had another suspect detained, and they transported the victim to their location for positive identification.  The victim said that the suspect detained was also involved.  The second suspect was transported to Ingleside station.  The victim was also transported to Ingleside station where he wrote a statement as evidence.  At the instruction of Sgt. Weggeman, the first suspect was booked for the theft and the second was issued a Certificate of Release.  The victim was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120331216

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Heckenberg that he received a bill from Verizon Wireless regarding an account that he owed money on.  He contacted Verizon and explained that he had never opened such an account.  They requested he file a police report.  He was provided with follow up information and identity theft information.  Report Number 120327005

8:30am       200 Blk Bella Vista     Burglary
Officer Bernard was sent to investigate a burglary.  The victims were on scene and told him that they locked and secured the home and when they returned found the garage door ajar and several items missing.  The officer also noticed the front gate and front door had been pried open.  He contacted SFPD’s Crime Scene Investigations Unit who said they would be responding to the scene.  He took pictures of the damage and the condition of the home which he booked into evidence at Ingleside station.  He provided the victims with follow up information.  Report Number 120331614

Officer Bernard was investigating a burglary when another victim approached him and asked for a report as well.  The officer responded to the victim’s home.  She told him that she locked and secured her home and when she returned found pry marks on the entrance door.  It did not appear that entry had been made and no items were missing.  She did, however, want the incident documented.  The officer took pictures of the damage and the home which he booked into evidence at Ingleside station.  He provided the victims with follow up information.  Report Number 120331545

Officers Park and Chang were sent to an attempted burglary.  The victim told him that he was upstairs in his home when he heard a loud bang.  He looked outside and noticed two males in front of the home trying to open his garage door.  The victim banged on the window and the suspects ran down the street.  The victim said he could recognize one of the suspects.  He said no entry had been made into the home.  The officers noticed the garage door was open but no entry had been made.  There were no surfaces with ascertainable prints and CSI was not notified.  They provided the victim with follow up information.  They searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects.  Report Number 1203330434

12:50pm     900 Blk Ellsworth      Battery
Officer Phillips and several other Ingleside officers were on patrol in the Ellsworth Housing Development when they were sent to investigate a battery.  They met with the reportee who said that she had been having issues with one of her neighbors and that the neighbor had assaulted her. She wanted to press charges and signed a citizen’s arrest.  The victim had no visible injuries and no complaint of pain.  The officers responded to the address where the suspect resides and received no answer to the door.  They provided the victim with follow up information.  Report Number 120330462

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Heckenberg that he attempted to sell something on Craigslist and received a check from an interested party.  When the victim went to the bank to cash the check, they told him the check was fraudulent and advised him to file this police report.  He was provided with follow up information.  He provided the officers with a copy of the check and they booked it into evidence at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120327704

A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Flynn that he locked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found a window smashed and items missing.  He was unable to provide any suspect information and was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120311755

Officers Quintero and Chan were sent to an attempted robbery.  The victim advised that she was walking down Ocean when a suspect approached her from behind, threw her to the ground, and attempted to take her purse from her.  The victim resisted and began yelling.  The suspect then ran down the street.  The victim was not injured and refused medical assistance.  She said she would be able to recognize the suspect if she saw him again.  She was provided follow up information.  The officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspect.  Report Number 120332004

8:40pm       Geneva/Pasadena         Warrant
Officers Benavidez and Lustenberger were on patrol when they observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign.  They affected a traffic stop and identified the driver by his California Driver’s License.  A record check revealed the driver had an outstanding warrant.  His car was legally parked and he was transported to Ingleside station.  The warrant was confirmed by the warrants bureau and the suspect was booked into custody at the instruction of Sgt. Officers Pai and Araujo were sent to investigate a robbery. They met with the victim who spoke minimal English.  The daughter of the victim was on site and assisted with the translation.  The victim said she was walking down the street when she observed a white vehicle park in front of her.  A male exited the passenger side of the vehicle and the victim suddenly felt someone pull her body and begin tugging at her purse.  The victim struggled to keep her purse and fell to the ground.  The suspect then grabbed her purse from her, ran down the street, and boarded the white vehicle which drove away.  The victim had visible scratches and the officers summoned an ambulance to treat her.  She said she would not be able to identify the suspects.  She was provided with follow up information.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects and the vehicle.  Report Number 120326546

Officer Trujillo was dispatched to an auto boost.  The victim advised that she locked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found a window smashed and several items missing.  She was unable to provide the officer with any suspect information and he provided her with follow up information.  Report Number 120327174

Officers Pai and Araujo were on patrol when they responded to a person who said hot coffee had been thrown at him.  They met with the victim who said he was not injured and refused medical assistance.  The victim said he was in a meeting when an unknown male walked by him, threw coffee at him and left the area in a silver vehicle.  The victim provided the officers with a description of the suspect and the license plate on the vehicle.  They provided the victim with follow up information and searched the area unsuccessfully for the vehicle or the suspect.  Report Number 120327209

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Flynn that she withdrew money from an ATM when two women suspects approached her and told her to give them her wallet.  The victim said she was afraid and handed her wallet to one of the females.  The suspect emptied her wallet and gave it back to her.  The suspects then ran down Ocean.  The victim was not injured and would not be able to identify the suspects.  She was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120329261

Officers Hauscarriague and Ma were on patrol when they noticed a vehicle with its trunk open.  They exited their patrol vehicle and observed the vehicle with the open trunk had been rummaged through.  The contacted the registered owner of the vehicle who responded to the scene.  He said he locked and secured the vehicle and now noticed that there were items missing.  He was unsure if he had locked the vehicle.  The officers provided him with follow up information and found no sign of forced entry into the vehicle.  They were unable to locate any fingerprint evidence.  Report Number 120329283

A victim came to Ingleside station to report threats.  She told Officer Lundy that a known suspect had threatened her over the phone.  She wanted the incident documented because she had been have issues with the suspect who had vandalized her vehicle in the past.  He provided her with follow up information.  Report Number 120329374

1:00am       4900 Blk Mission                    Shoplifting
Officer Jones responded to the report of a shoplifter.  The reportee advised that he saw a male enter the store, place several bottles of alcohol in his cart, along with other items, and proceed to the cashier.  The suspect then paid for several items but not the alcohol.  He exited the store and the reportee detained him.  He asked him about the alcohol and the suspect said he emptied the alcohol in the bathroom and poured it into the bottle of soda that he had paid for.  The reportee smelt the open soda bottle and noticed it had a strong odor of alcohol.  The suspect was then escorted back into the store and the reportee located the empty bottles of alcohol in the bathroom.  The reportee signed a citizen’s arrest to have the suspect cited for the violation.  A record check revealed no prior convictions or warrants.  The suspect was cited and released at the scene.  The reportee was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120323605

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Cato that he was waiting for the bus when a male approached him and began yelling at him.  The victim thought he was being robbed and began telling the man he would comply with him.  The man took the victim to an ATM where the victim withdrew money and gave it to the suspect.  The suspect demanded more money and the victim ran away.  The suspect did not physically hurt the victim and he refused medical assistance.  The victim said he could identify him if he saw him again.  Report Number 120325639

Officers Padilla and Sullivan responded to a vandalism report.  The victim said that she heard a commotion outside and then noticed damage to her window and the screen.  She did not see anyone damage the window and there were no witnesses.  She said that entry was not made into the house.  She was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120324700

Officer Sugitan was dispatched to a burglary.  The victim advised that he locked and secured his home and when he returned found the front gate damage and the door pried open.  The house had also been ransacked and several items were missing.  SFPD’s Crime Scene Investigations Unit was contacted and advised they would be responding to process the scene.  The victims were provided with follow up information.  The officers took pictures at the scene and booked them into evidence.  Report Number 120324807

A victim came to Ingleside station and told PSA Zabarte that she was shopping and attempted to use her debit card and learned it had been suspended.  She called the bank and the representative told her there appeared to have been some fraudulent charges made.  Therefore, they placed a hold on the card.  The bank requested she file this police report.  She was provided with follow up and identity theft information.  Report Number 120323928

Officers Rodriguez and Reyes responded to a robbery.  The victim advised that he was parked in his vehicle when he was approached by several male suspects.  One of them put a gun to his neck area and told him to give him the car keys.  They then instructed him to sit in the back seat while one of the suspects kept the gun pointed at him.  The suspects emptied out the victim’s pockets and dropped the victim him off in McLaren Park.  They drove away with his vehicle.  The victim was not injured and refused medical assistance.  He was provided with follow up information.  Several officers searched the area for the suspects and the vehicle to no avail.  Report Number 120316553

Officer Trujillo responded to St. Luke’s Hospital to interview the victim of a battery.  The victim advised that she was drinking with a friend of hers and they started walking down the street.  Suddenly, the male companion began hitting her repeatedly causing her to fall to the ground.  She lost consciousness and when she awoke called 911.  She said she would be able to recognize the suspect if she saw him again.  Officer Trujillo provided her with follow up information.  He took pictures of the injuries which he booked into evidence.  Report Number 120323837

Officers Pederson and Jones were dispatched to a fight over a traffic accident.  They met with the victim who advised he pulled out of a parking spot when a vehicle approached him rapidly from the rear. The suspect vehicle pursued him continually until it hit him from behind and caused him to hit a pole and a cement wall.  The victim was afraid, exited his vehicle and began running.  He said that three male suspects began chasing him until he was able to find a house where he sought shelter.  He then called the police.  The victim would not be able to recognize the suspects and had no idea why they were following him.

The victim complained of pain to his neck, head and ankle and the officers summoned an ambulance to treat him.  He was provided with follow up information.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspects.  Report Number 120326148

9:25am       Unit Raymond Ave                Trespassing
Officer Marino responded to a report of trespassing and vandalism at a community center. The reporting party showed the officer two doors that had been severely damaged.  The suspect had been on the premise a couple of days prior, but was notified that the locks had been changed.  The suspect reportedly said that he knew other ways of entering the building.  Later that day, a witness was inside the premise when he heard loud banging, followed by footsteps in the building.  The suspect confronted the witness and asked him why the locks were changed.  The suspect left.  The following day, the witness returned to the center and discovered the damage to the doors.  In a conversation, the suspect admitted causing damage to the doors.   The suspect was later arrested for the damage.  Report 120321223

Officer Giannini was working at Ingleside station when a suspect approached the counter.  The suspect said that he knew he was wanted on an outstanding warrant and wanted to turn himself in.  Officer Giannini conducted a records check and confirmed that the suspect was in fact wanted.  The suspect was arrested.  Report 120322011

3:26pm       Unit Blk Schwerin St             Narcotics
Officers Burke, Hopkins, Hurwitz and Sgt. Alvarez responded to a residence where marijuana cultivation was reportedly occurring.  During their investigation, the officers witnessed a U-Haul truck parked in front of the residence containing several items consistently used in growing marijuana in large quantities.  Five suspects were contacted and detained.  Further investigation revealed that the suspects had just removed large quantities of marijuana and items used to grow the marijuana from the residence.  One suspect was arrested regarding this incident.  Report 120322431

Officers Hurwitz and Sgt. Alvarez were on patrol working in plainclothes.  The officers spotted a suspect sitting in a vehicle smoking from a pipe.  The officers slowly passed by and smelled a strong odor of marijuana.  The officers stopped and made contact with the suspect.  The suspect told the officers that he stopped and parked his vehicle so he could smoke marijuana.  The officers could see a jar in plain sight in the vehicle.  The jar contained several small bags of marijuana.  The suspect exited the vehicle and was detained pending further investigation.  The officers searched the vehicle and located large quantities of marijuana in several other glass jars, a scale and several clear, unused plastic bags, all consisted with the sale of narcotics.  The suspect was arrested.  Report 120322801

Officers Carrasco and Dominguez were dispatched to a report of theft from a vehicle that had just occurred.  The victim told the officers that he was inside his residence and looked outside at his vehicle.  He saw a suspect closing the hatchback of his vehicle.  The victim ran outside to confront the suspect, who fled in a black SUV.  The victim believes he may have left his vehicle unlocked because there were no signs of forced entry.  The suspect made off with approximately $15.00 in cash.  Report 120323611

Officers Conceicao and Trujillo responded to a report of theft.  The victim was working at the front counter when the suspect entered the store.  The suspect was being rude and yelling at one of the victim’s employees, so he approached her to tell her that he was the owner and that she would not be served because of her behavior.  The suspect then grabbed the tip jar off of the counter and fled.  Several people chased the suspect but were unable to catch her.  Report 120320855

PSA Zabarte took a report regarding theft from a vehicle.  The victim parked and secured his vehicle before leaving it unattended. Upon his return the victim found that a passenger side window on the vehicle had been smashed.  Several documents were stolen from inside.  Report 120320902

Officer Morgante was dispatched to a report of theft.  The store had a tire display on the sidewalk area.  A witness saw a suspect pull up to the display, take two tires and place them in his personal vehicle.  The suspect fled.  Report 120321007

CCSFPD Officer Zhadi took a report regarding burglary.  The victim placed his backpack in a locker and secured the locker using a padlock.  Upon his return, he found his backpack out of the locker, and the damaged lock in the garbage can.  The victim’s wallet was stolen.  Report 120321358

CCSFPD Officer Edwards took a report regarding theft.  The victim entered the locker room and encountered two suspects.  The suspects fled the locker room upon her entry.  The victim realized that a camera had been taken off of the counter.  A second victim was missing her cell phone and shoes. The area was searched for the suspect, with negative results.  Report 120319068

4:31pm       4600 Blk Mission St               Assault
PSA Cato took a report regarding an assault.  The victim was walking on Mission Street when he was approached from behind by four suspects.  One of the suspects hit the victim in the back of the head with a glass bottle.  The victim fell to the ground.  The suspects punched and kicked the victim in the face and head while he was on the ground.  The suspects abruptly stopped hitting the victim and fled.  The victim did not call the police and did not report the incident for two days.  Report 120322403

Officers Shugars and Paras responded to a report of a burglary.  The victim secured his residence before leaving for the day.  Upon his return, he discovered that the metal gate had been forced open and the window on his front door was smashed.  Several of his personal belongings were stolen from inside.  Report 120322914

Officer Cavanaugh took a report regarding theft.  The victim parked and placed some personal belongings in her trunk.  The victim left her vehicle unattended.  Upon her return, she opened her trunk and discovered that her items were gone.  The suspect had forced the trunk open, damaging the lock.  Report 120323213

Officers Peregrina and McMilton responded to a vandalism of a MUNI bus.  They met with the driver who stated that when she asked two males to wait for the next bus they began screaming at her.  One of the males then pulled the chords from the bus and graffitied the back of it.  While interviewing the reportee, she saw the male who had graffitied the bus on another corner.  She positively identified him as the suspect who had vandalized the bus.  She signed a citizen’s arrest and was provided with follow up information. 

The suspect was transported to Ingleside station where he was positively identified by his SFPD mug shot photo.  At the instruction of Sgt. Deshong, he was cited for the vandalism.  The officers took pictures of the damages which they booked into evidence.  Report Number 120318123

6:50am       800 Blk Ellsworth         Warrant
Officer Morgante and several Ingleside units responded to a fight. No one was injured and those involved had de-escalated.  Two of the people in the crowd continued yelling at each other.  They were detained and transported to Ingleside station pending further investigation.

The reportee advised that she had given a friend of the other detained individual money to purchase items that he did not deliver.  When she arrived at the apartment to confront him, the woman who the police had detained answered the door carrying a baseball bat.  The two then began arguing.  There was no physical contact and neither party requested any further police action.

A record check revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant.  She was booked at Ingleside station upon confirmation of the warrant.  The reportee was provided with a Certificate of Release.  All parties were provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120318242

Officers Carrasco and Dominguez responded to a robbery.  The victim advised she was walking from her vehicle when an unknown male approached her from behind, pointed a gun at her, and told her to give him her purse.  The suspect then fled in an unknown direction with the purse.  The victim said she could not identify the suspect and that she was not injured.  Officers searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspect and the purse.  The victim was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120320344

Officers McMilton and Peregrina were sent to investigate a robbery.  The victim advised that he was in his garage grabbing some items from the trunk of his car when four unknown males entered the garage.  One of the males had a gun and hit the victim in the back of the head.  The victim fell to the ground, and the other suspects repeatedly kicked and punched him.  The suspects then grabbed the victim’s shoulder bag and grabbed everything that was in his pockets.  A witness who resides in the home came downstairs and the suspects were still in the garage.  The suspect with the gun pointed it at her and told her to shut the garage.  She shut the garage and the suspects left the area.  The victims stated that they could possibly identify some of the suspects, but not all of them.  The male had complaint of pain but refused medical assistance.  They were provided with follow up information.  Officers canvassed the area unsuccessfully for the suspects.  Report Number 120317943

Sgts. Deshong and Danielle were on patrol when they were flagged down by a victim who was bleeding from the head.  The victim was a Spanish speaker and Officer Carrasco responded to translate.  He told them he was walking on Vienna when two males approached him from the rear and told him to give them money.  The victim was then struck in the head.  He began to scream and the suspects fled the area.  A witness said she saw the males attack the victim.  They then fled down the street and boarded a minivan.  Neither would be able to identify the suspects.  The victim said he went to get his car and drove around when he spotted the minivan in front of an address.  The officers responded to the address and identified the driver and registered owner of the minivan the victim pointed out.  They determined that the individuals in the home were not involved.

An ambulance responded to treat the victim for his injuries and transported him to the hospital.  The officers took pictures of the injuries which they booked into evidence.  Various units searched the area unsuccessfully for the minivan and the suspects.  All parties were provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120317959

Officers Trail and Peregoy were on patrol when they responded regarding a shot spotter activation.  Officers Sanchez and Curry were on scene and had located several shell casings.  They set up crime scene tape and secured the area.  A witness told the officers that several males ran into the general area, fired several shots and then boarded a maroon vehicle.  He said he would not be able to identify them.  The officers searched the area unsuccessfully for any victims, to no avail.  They contacted SFPD’s Crime Scene Investigations Unit who stated they would not be responding.  The officers broke down the crime scene and collected the evidence which they booked at Ingleside station.  Report Number 120318452

Officer Morrow responded to a robbery.  The victim advised that while walking in the park she was approached by an unknown male who told her to give him her cellular phone.  The suspect then pulled out a gun and demanded the cellular phone again.  The victim told him that she did not believe the gun was real and walked away from the suspect.  The suspect seemed embarrassed and fled the area.  She was not injured or scared and refused medical assistance.  There were no witnesses and she could not identify the suspect.  The officer searched the area unsuccessfully and provided the victim with follow up information.  Report Number 120318725

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Zabarte that he parked and secured his vehicle and when he returned found his tire damaged and a screwdriver embedded in it.  There was no suspect information and no witnesses.  The victim was provided with follow up information.  The screwdriver was booked at Ingleside station.  There were no surfaces to obtain fingerprint evidence on the screwdriver.  Report Number 120318565

Officer Dilag responded to assist a home owner with a trespassing complaint.  The reportee advised that a male trespasses regularly through her yard and that she has asked him not to do so.  On today’s date, the reportee once again asked the male not to enter her property.  He began yelling defiantly at her.  The reportee was not injured and merely wanted the incident documented.  The officer searched the area unsuccessfully for the suspect.  The reportee was provided with follow up information.  Report Number 120319381

A victim responded to Ingleside station and told PSA Zabarte that she parked and secured her vehicle and when she returned found scratches on the vehicle.  She also found what appeared to be egg yolk on her garage door.  She did not witness the incidents, but wanted them documented because she has been having problems with a certain neighbor.  Report Number 120318781

Sgt. Miller responded to an auto boost.  The victim told him that she parked and locked her vehicle and when she returned found a window smashed and several items missing.  Sgt. Miller assessed the scene and it appeared that the suspect did not touch any surfaces which would merit processing at the time.  He provided the victim with follow up information.  Report Number 120318377

Sgt. Miller responded to an auto boost.  The victim told him that she parked and locked her vehicle and when she returned found a window smashed and items moved around.  There did not appear to be anything missing.  The victim said that she had moved the vehicle prior to Sgt.
