5:20pm       Naples/Curtis                          Attempted Robbery
Quick thinking may have saved a young man from getting robbed, but not saved from the assault that followed. The victim, accompanied by his father, came to Ingleside Station to report the incident. He told Officers Bautista and O’Connor that he was waiting at the bus stop with a friend when they were approached by six suspects that wanted to rob them. The victim said he feared for his safety and immediately ran away. All six suspects began chasing after him, so the victim ran into an open garage asking for the homeowners help. The resident failed to help and all the suspects entered the garage and dragged him outside where they began to beat him with punches and random kicks. The victim was able to get back on his feet and once again ran away. This time, the victim ran to a parked car with someone inside and asked for help. The driver obliged and drove the victim from the area. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he received three stitches on his face. The victim was able to retain his property. Arrests:

10:30pm     Sickles/Mission                       Drugs/Weapons
A new Chevrolet Camaro going 15 mph on Mission Street, with its hazard lights flashing, caught the attention of Ingleside Officers Williams, Lucia, and Hackard. The officers activated their emergency lights and siren and the Camaro driver pulled into a nearby convenience store parking lot and stopped. The officers smelled the familiar odor of marijuana wafting from inside the vehicle after the driver rolled down the windows. He didn’t have a medical marijuana card but he was licensed to drive. A computer check revealed a San Francisco arrest history with a previous narcotics conviction. Inside the vehicle the officers found several baggies and a glass jar of marijuana as well as baggies of cocaine packaged for sale. They also found a Beretta pellet pistol with the orange tip removed. The orange tip denotes that the pistol is not a firearm but instead, a pellet gun. The gun was loaded with a magazine containing several pellets. The officers also confiscated more than $900 in cash and two cell phones. The suspect was taken to Ingleside Station and booked on several narcotics and weapons charges. Report number: 150068724

Arrests:

1:20am       Avalon/Paris                 Burglary
An Ingleside midnight unit caught an auto burglar red handed in the early morning hours. Officers Dominguez and Franceschi were on routine patrol driving around the Excelsior district when they spotted something unusual at 1:20 in the morning. From their patrol car they spotted a man leaning into a parked vehicle with half his body hanging out from the passenger window of a parked car. As they got closer the suspect spotted them and attempted to walk away and then ducked down next to another parked vehicle several feet away. Fearing the auto booster was trying to make a break for it, Officer Franceschi quickly got out on foot, while Officer Dominguez remained inside the patrol car. Sure enough, when the suspect spotted Officer Franceschi, he immediately jumped to his feet and began to run off. Officer Dominguez sped ahead of the suspect cutting off his escape. The suspect then turned back around and tried to run back where he came from, but instead ran into Officer Franceschi, who was running him down. The suspect was immediately taken into custody. On his person, the officers found numerous burglary tools used to break into or steal cars. The suspect was taken back to Ingleside Station where he was booked on several charges.
